I just wish our fans would be realistic...they predict we'll blow away LSU and then get pissed at the f-ball team and LSU when we don't...

What the hell did you expect?

First its the assinine comment about Jacksonville College now this...

Why is is assinine to think ASU will make the same or very close to the same playing Jacksonville at Home that LSU on the road?

Appalachian will gross around 600k in tickets and about 100k in consessions for the Jacksonville game. I think we are paying Jacksonville 100k to come to Boone. So we will gross around 600k.

LSU is paying App St. 550k..it will cost in the neighborhood of 100k for travel expenses for the team and coaches. Net around 450k.

Of Course the exposure the LSU game gives us is immeasurable. But from a bottom line the profit from both games will be very close.

But after we get that money from J-ville State...we have to pay for the concessions that we just sold...the paper to print the tickets...the programs and stuff we handed out...the people that work those different things...

We don't have to spend that money when we go to LSU...

Don't want to argue...just throwing that out

Thank you...

The benefit to App is they are getting a guaranteed $550k for playing a ROAD game which is basically the equalivalent of having extra home game in profits...

These are the paydays that 1AA programs look far, its a trmendous boost to the athletic budget...

Hey...the money is fabulous...I'm sure that's at least part of the reason why we are playing LSU...but I'm sure thats not the ONLY thing ASU wants...

Not saying they will get it...but they will sure as hell try...

No ASU fan is predicting a blow out of LSU.

You are probably talking to me, and fu by the way.

I predicted 37-28 that isn't a blowout in anyone's mind. I also predicted a 31-27 Mountaineer win for the Michigan game the day it was announced, so I may be off a couple of points.

I just like the finger things because i've never seen them on a board before.

Still 41-24 is reasonable and LSU's defense should be BETTER at the end of the year and not worse.

You are exactly right.

I am comparing playing an extra OOC at home against a lessor team, instead of playing the Tigers on the road.

Go ahead and roll on the floor, my friend. Furman has had a damn good program over the years and have had more than their share of success against the ACC, namely NC State, UNC and Ga Tech. Oh yeah, the ACC doesn't measure up, so that shouldn't count. Never mind.

Dan...

The tigers ran for only 163 yards against us in 2005.

Our front 7 is going to be better than in 05, and you have a quarterback that is as green as they come.

So with that info...how many running yards do you predict?

This is not 05...plus 163 isn't exactly "unable to run the ball...period" is it?

With the LSU OL and KW, CS, TH, RM I would say over 200 to be nice.

As well as our O-line and and D-line is better than '05...

That is true in the SEC.

We are used to a lot of scoring in the southern conference, very similar to the Pac 10 in I-A.

So if in a conference game, ASU doesn't have at least 250 yards rushing then something was wrong.

I don't think it's unrealistic for LSU to run well against App. Michigan did just fine against our suspect D. I love our fans optimism about the D being better this year, but I remain cautiously optimistic until I see further proof on the field.

Michigan threw the ball too much against App IMO and I don't see LSU making that same mistake. LSU getting 200+ yards on the ground is not unrealistic, I just hope they all come b/t the 20's

I see LSU using the run to set up an inexperienced QB for short safe passes to give him confidence, but I'm not a coach or 'the hat'.

Very sensible post, IMO. If Mike Hart stays in the game, and Michigan runs the ball, different outcome. LSU should run the ball down our throats, especially with that group of big, talented, backs. I still say we put up 14-21 pts. LSU 42, ASU 21.
