Appears to have been a poor decision to start Fournette this year

Just looking back at some of his runs this year. I see more last-second ankle/leg tackles as he was about to break one.

I lost count of how many he took to the house 40+ yards or more last year. This year, he never got into those 3rd and 4th gears...maybe once in that Auburn game, but he still got caught.

Methinks Guice should start. Fournette should definitely play. Or at the least, give them split playing time.

Fournette has clearly not been healthy this year. That said, I don't have a problem with him playing. I do, however, have a problem with the coaches not spelling him more with one of the four talented backs behind him.

I don't understand the embargo on LF7 posts. I think LF7 wants to compete and it's got to be very painful for him to have to sit out. I believe it's the right and necessary thing for him to do, not only to protect his health but to help the team. In the end he and we will be better having him up to 100% with this time off.

There WAS a point in the Auburn game where he could hardly walk that I was p!ssed at Miles for leaving him in the game to block and hobble along. I don't think many know the extent of his injuries but I do know every opponent seems to be going for his injury to get him out of the game which makes it doubly worse. No game at LSU is worth his health. We are out of the running for the championship AND he's out of the running for Heisman. No reason to risk further injury. As you can see from his sideline demeanor, he's upset not being able to compete, no matter how much he begs to get back on the field, it's still in his best interest to give his injury time to heal. I applaud the coaches for making this decision.

**edited to clarify that I have no idea of his injuries! I didn't mean to sound as if I did**

.... Appears to have been an asinine decision by CLM to run 80+ play full contact, tackling scrimmages days before the season opener and mid-week before Saturday games.

Didn't we have a few players get injured during practice, Fournette being one of them?

LF is clearly not at 100%.

Even poorer decision to have live contact drills with your best player in a meaningless fall practice.

i don't know why the hate. I agree, he shouldn't have started until 100%. If that were the case, he most likely would be 100% by now.

Why???

Because a poster thinks Fournette shouldn't play (presumably he meant because of his ankle injury)?

Is your psyche so fragile that you can't handle an opinion different than your own?

Note that the OP wasn't saying LF sucks, I believe he was merely implying that he shouldn't have started with his injury, and the studs we have backing him up.

I don't see how you can take such offense to that.

You realize that football is a contact sport, right?

Wait, wasn't LF dealing with a left ankle injury that was getting better each week before injuring the right ankle late at Auburn?

Your post is 100% correct. Anyone with 1/2 of an eyeball could see since beginning of season he has not been 100% and yes other teams have intentionally targeted him low...as would all teams including LSU if he were an opponent.

Ankle injuries are one of the worst to heal and get back to normal. He should not play, unless in a decoy role, until he is 100%.

Yes. This new injury is a different injury.
