Well if the SEC is getting defensive about those comments, isn't that telling about their bias?

Yes, very much so.

Say what you want about Clay Travis, but that dude calls it like he sees it and I appreciate that

He is pretty connected in media legal circles.

I'm glad he's good at that because on the gambling show on FS1 Lock it in, he's absolutely horrible at picking games. He went something like 3-18 in baseball games.

And he doubled down on Bama this weekend.

He took Auburn and UGA against LSU as well.

The SEC only has itself to blame.

They come out after the DW targeting call and issue some statement like “the nature of targeting is inherently a judgment call, a judgment was made on the field and the video didn’t provide conclusive enough evidence to overturn. We will continue to review calls internally after games to continue to insure fairness and uphold our officials to a standard becoming of the best conference in college football” then that quashes the whole issue.

Instead, they come out with a quick statement that looks like they’re sweeping things under rugs, giving the appearance of shadiness/impropriety. That strategy breeds and foments this perception that something indeed stinks in Denmark (or Birmingham).

They could’ve asked the ncaa to review the call and that would have destroyed the B’ham/Tuscaloosa conspiracy narrative. But THEY CHOSE not to do so. They fan their own flames of conspiracy and then get angry if the media dare comment on the very flames they fanned.

Anyone with two good eyes , a decent brain, and just a little bit of football knowledge knows right from wrong! A lot of WRONG has been going on for a really LONG time! Is playing just a FAIR game of football too much to ask?

Just replying to OP and haven't read the entire six pages yet...

CBS's contract with the SEC is almost done anyway. CBS also got a steal for these games compared to ESPN airing SEC games.

Either way, the SEC will soon be done with CBS and will then sell the rights to ESPN, most likely, to carry ALL of the SEC games.

Then they can lie, cheat, and steal any way they please and no one will question it. They are just waiting for that day. In the meantime...

It didn’t help that the review took maybe 10 seconds (to DQ one of the top players in the SEC) followed by that terse BS statement that seemed to have been written ahead of time. All on the same day that a Gump hitman broke another QB’s collarbone without a call.

I fully expect the refs to double down, the SEC/Gumps are that arrogant. It’s why their players are taught to lead with the crown of their helmet-zero fear of retribution. No penalty will be called, and no on the field payback allowed. It is a well oiled business, from their alums handling the schedules to their boosters officiating the games and handling replay. They don’t even attempt to hide it, they are just annoyed anyone would question it.

You really have to look no further than that bridge schedule the SEC instituted

This has been my biggest gripe. They fudged the schedules and having a permanent cross division games means schedule will continue to be unbalanced more often then not.. Go to 9 or rotate the teams more often.

I don't know if there is a conspiracy, I've seen LSU get calls. I do think the sec has protected teams to keep us in the hunt, especially during the BCS era. But I just want consistency. I want punishment to officials for blatant frick ups. Most of us would lose our jobs with the amount of mistakes sec officials make.

That goes for all sports, not just football.

Indeed, the Conference is a racket and the folks in Alabama reap the majority of the profits.

Why losing top Louisiana players to Alabama is a bigger deal than the "good for them" crowd is willing to accept. A Louisiana kid that has offers to play for LSU but instead goes to Alabama is in fact working to earn money for the state of Alabama at the expense of Louisiana. It is a big part of why those pieces of shite are traitors and should never feel welcome in Louisiana ever again. Period.

Yep, the whole conference dumps money into the Alabama economy by having the offices there.
