CBS's complaint is that the games are artificially extended by longer and more frequent commercial breaks than a game on any other network.

I have no idea why the SEC acquiesces to this.

The conventional wisdom answer is always "money", but nobody will ever convince me that they couldn't demand the same price for the network package with more common sense break agreements - meaning keeping some actual coherency to the pace of the fricking football game as it is meant to be played.

So the SEC has no problem with the game announcers openly rooting for Alabama why they’re calling the game but they have a problem with what a analyst says against Alabama. That right there tells you all you need to know

Another takeaway from the discussion is Rick Neuheisel is an idiot.
Agreed. I'm sure he's a bright guy, but the "point" he was trying to make was asinine.
Rick: It was the right call and even if it wasn't, the only reason you're making a big deal of this is because the suspension comes against Bama.

Who gives a shite. The fact that they are mad pretty much proves the point. Keep it up

a lot of people. People here really hate CBS whether it be the perceived bias, the announcers, the overabundance of commercials compared to their peers broadcasts, the day games (especially in September/early October when it can still be sweltering).

Your eyes that see years of favoritism to Bama are wrong Brian. Be scared for your job.

No we are stopping it before they have an opportunity to ruin the conference. Texas ruined the conference because the other schools didn't have the balls to stand up to them...

These SEC officials that got furious at CBS, would that be all those that are Bama grads and supporters? You’re going to have to excuse me for my lack of sympathy for them.

It's about time SEC get rid of CBS. I am tired of hearing Gary Danielson bashing LSU for the last umpty years... About the call, it is too late to gripe about it now ... it is what it is...

Normally one would think the SEC officiating gurus and officials themselves would be thinking, even saying "we need to really get this game right; we need to be extra careful to be fair".

But in viewing past results and human nature and the nature of these frickheads, they're probably saying "OK, y'all want to cry we're in the tank for Alabama, we'll show you".

I have no doubt in my mind if push comes to shove and the game is on the line they're going with Saban and his bunch.

Sounds like the SEC front office is feeling the heat a little.

This is good.

Yes, they have a smug "we do what we want" attitude. Been that way for years and wont change soon.

Bama knows. They know nothing will be called on them so they know they can push the limits on every play

A friend was the LSU Alum chapter president in B.ham for over 10 + ys.AS such, he and all the other league's alum chapter presidents in B.ham, got invited to the League's box suits in Hoover for the baseball tourney every yr. He said that whenever bama played, the number of red jackets, worn by League office employees, literally over flowed the suite. Point being, bama alums flood the League's office.

That's all well and good but the SEC is not better off on Fox, ABC/ESPN.

Of course it's a marriage in heaven if the SEC partners even more with ESPN, lead by Rece Davis etc.

Nothing says I’m guilty like getting furious about accusations...
Innocent people laugh it off and never think about it again.
