And think about it.

For some reason that just sounds kind of stupid to me when you already have. At THEIR house.

This argument is getting stupider and stupider...

The stupid part is that this thread is NOT about whether Bama is better than LSU. That was settled on the field. As for your stats, first quarter counts too but the only really important stat is the score. The real question in this thread is: is Bama better than everyone else? Folks on the Oklahoma State board generally concede that point. So why don't LSU fans? I am sure that if Bama had made one of those field goals, some Bama fans would be looking for reasons why someone other than LSU should play them in the NC game. But either way, LSU and Bama are the best two teams in the nation. Folks suggesting VT are funny because the ONLY way for VT to win their conference is also in a rematch against a team that already beat them - and OSU doesn't have a conference championship game. Plus, OSU has not even beaten OU yet and OU lost to who, Baylor and Texas Tech?

Exactly! And since Bama couldn't beat the best, (in their own stadium at that) they should sit home and let somebody else try.

And afterward, if the losing team cries about it for a month, they'll get a do-over? Where's that caveat?

But that is irrelevant.

This isn't about finding the best 2 teams. It's about finding the best team.

Bama is a great team and most likely better than the other 1 loss teams. But LSU already beat them. Granting a rematch is going in the wrong direction in terms of the better solution (a playoff). You're saying it's better to determine winners/losers OFF the field. OK State (if they beat OK) has a hell of an argument to play LSU for the title. So does Va Tech. Nobody really knows how that would turn out (see the unbeatable Ohio State vs. Florida a few years ago).

Great teams that lose in the 4th round of the NCAA basketball tournament don't get a second shot b/c "everybody knows they're really better". You win/you lose. ON THE FIELD. That's it. Better/worse goes out the window when you actually play.

The only decent thing to do since Alabama is in the drivers seat is to let them pick who they want to face I the NC. It's only fair!

Exactly. And what's deranged is that there are obviously people who think this way out there.
