It was a good recovery play, but let's not lose our minds here. LSU's DBs allowed the WR to get behind them for a potential TD when it was 3rd and forever.

that angle that RJ took on the bomb to calloway before halftime was crazy bad, though.

Oh I'm not defending him. He played terrible. He got lit up a couple times.

Jefferson plays a bit too aggressively with his head down and loses track of guys. He needs to see the whole field better.

Aggressive is great if you're going in the right direction though

He was really good saturday night including a possible game saving pass breakup in the end zone. He was the scapegoat for the secondary's problems in the first 5 games and got a lot of hate on here.

Dwayne,

I am sorry. I would note that your streak of being targeted the most in the passing game is still alive.

Dwayne Thomas was target more than any other DB – five times.

You are going to need to continue to stay in position. Teams obviously see you as the weak link. Also, on a jump ball, don't be so passive. Relying on punching a caught ball out is not a sound strategy as a defender.

He had a good game, but that doesn't erase his shortcomings in previous games. I hope he continues to play well, and I hope Jefferson shakes off this game against Florida.

I had to read that book circa 1993 in Paul Paskoff's History 2055 (or something like that)--it's actually really good.

If im an opposing coach id throw at DT more than i threw at tre white and KT2 as well. Both future first round picks likely.

He also is out of positions a lot, struggles in man coverage, and gives up a ton of big plays. That's why he gets targeted as well.

He had one good play. He should not see the field anymore he gets beat all the time and is always out of position. There is a reason he gets picked on every game.

Well, he gave up three big gainers against State in the flat, Cooper beat up on him against USC on the first drive until they took him out in favor of Jackson (Thomas was picked on 6 of USC's first 8 attempts). He likely blew his coverage against Jerrel Adams in the USC game for 30 yards. He gave up the 30 yard gainer to Estime because he got his doors blown off. He had a stupid personal foul against Syracuse. Thomas had a stupid defensive holding penalty against State that kept a drive going that ended in a touchdown.

Those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head this year.

Gave up 2 completions. One was a slant he had good coverage on

I though Jefferson was doing pretty well this year until Saturday. Don't know what was going on with him but it looked like he was playing scared. Florida got to the point where they were taking advantage of him as a weak spot in the defense.

2 completions one for 42 yards, no big deal. So he gave up 50 yards on 6 targets, that's 8.3 an attempt. I see why they kept going to that well, and why he was lifted for Jackson.

his only 3 passes allowed. and they weren't "big gainers".

Cooper caught 2 passes. He wasn't beat up on, although he definitely shouldn't have been covering him.

that wasn't single coverage

don't remember this play... holding happens every play, even in the secondary.

Basically, all you have is Cooper and some MSU issues. And he's made a ton of great plays all over the field. KYS

It was nice to see Mills on the field at the end of the game. Actually was the first I saw him. His ability to match up and make the calls in the secondary is huge. I expect the unit to play better with him on the field.

Safety - Jefferson & Adams - play in pass D must improve. Love their ability to tackle and stuff the run, but too many blown coverages btwn secondary and LB's. Gotta communicate and fix it before Kiffin, OM and TAM exploit it!
