people are worrying about TAM for no reason. they may annihilate everyone else but they wont beat us and they wont beat bama.

that offense always does this, sumlin came up under joe tiller, dennis erickson, and mike price, the single or no back spread will always run wild on an average defense and then slam into a brick wall when it faces a good one. its weakness is as unavoidable as its strength.

its a very simple offense to teach, that's why it always has such consistently good QB play, even from freshman, but its also simple to stop if you have the right type of players. and we do. which is not a coincidence, it's the type of players Miles and Chavis want, it's an army of tall, strong corners and speed off the edge.

a team like TAM will always win 9 or 10 games a year but it wont win a title except through sheer random luck, unless they somehow manage to never face a good defense.

this is a piece of crap. both fsu and bama should fall in polls. LSU beat the highest ranking losing team. LSU should be top 10.

I agree. These rankings are well we had you at that for preseason. Even though you didnt look good. you won soooooo stay at the top

Hopefully the committee doesn't release a poll. That would be ridiculous and pointless. I am telling you I would take the top 4 conference winners and be done with it. I fully expect this to be the result.

So you would take a 9-3 ACC Champ over a team who's only loss was in the SECCG?

They should have kept the bcs rankings and took the top 4.

so, SEC, Big 12, Big 10, and Pac 12? no Florida State? no undefeated Notre Dame or Boise?

4 is dumb, it should be 8. we all know it will be 8 one day so lets just get to it.

I am with you that we should not be scared of aTm because of our strong secondary/ Chavis/ speed.

However, aTm has scored 29 and 42 vs. Bama under Sumlin. They will likely do the same this year.

They should rank teams based on one game peromance but no team drops from pre-season ranking if they don't lose. Georgia and TAM should be in top 5. FSU and Alabama in top 10.

Yes I would rather consider 28 teams on the field play and take winners of a tournament/playoff structure to get into the National Playoff. The other way is just an eye test.

What if it were where you thought the SEC was extremely hard(champions with more losses) and then some other conference had undefeated and a one loss team?

I don't have a problem with subjectively choosing against conference champions, but I think it is bull shite to just dismiss a conference for a team that has already been proved in a tournament/playoff format to be no better than 2nd in their conference.

Not a bad thing some west-coast guy thinks that highly of LSU.

Not to put words in this guy's mouth, but LSU hasn't lost to one of their teams since 1978 and we've played them more often than any other southern team.

Pretty cool this guy has a good grasp of history.

LSU beat aTm as well and held JFF to the worst 2 games of his career.

Unless a major independent or midmajor with an unusually strong schedule ran the table there would be nothing wrong with this IMO... that or one of the conference winners had three plus losses

You can't both push for an eyeball test/best team and say you care about the games that were played. An eyeball test selectively ignores games that lose you a conference championship

he has LSU over-valued, Stanford under-valued and Auburn under-valued IMO. He also kept Wiscy top ten - which seems questionable after an 0-1 start

I'd have us ahead of Baylor and UCLA at 10. I would move up UGA and AU to #2 and #3. Drop Bama down behind them.

More like a West Coast guy thought highly of Wisconsin, if you read the article. Always better to play the overrated name schools like Notre Dame than the underrated no-name schools like Boise.
