Thinking about making that trip. Never been to Williams Brice. Is that a fun trip worth taking? Your opinions are appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Off campus is weird. Plus you have paid tailgating spots from my experience.
If you're a student, or young enough the bar scene is cool. It's pretty out there, too.

Yeah me and my family are making the trip to Columbia this year. Only bad thing is, the fair is happening the same damn time. Going to be crowded! Parking will be a bitch

I went once and the game ended in a tie - that should give you an idea of how long ago it was. One thing I remember is the hotel advertised that they were within walking distance of the stadium. It was a loooong walk.
I also remember that after the game, the Hooters there over spiced our wings to the point that they were almost inedible. We were drunk and acting up so we deserved it, I guess.
They kicked a lot of people out for having booze in the stands.
The fans and experience were just okay.

Yes I went in like 08 or something. Downtown is really cool. I had a good time

Columbia's OK. Not my favorite SEC town. Think Auburn without all the atmosphere. Tickets should be easy to come by for that bloodletting.

Yea it's ok, downtown has alot of bars, the main one is Five points. As fast as stadium experience It's no death valley. The way there season is going i'dk what you can expect

Went last time we played there, and really enjoyed it. Bar scene is good, and tailgating was cool.

We went last time LSU played in Columbia and had a great time. People were wonderful during tailgating and the stadium is really nice.

Well to old for the bar scene, Just the wife and I. The goal is to go to all SEC stadiums, so I see this as a good chance to go. Just kinda wanted to know what to expect. Appreciate the info guys...

Some friends and I went to see the Tigers there a few years ago. We stayed in Atlanta and rode the LSU Alumni bus to the game and back.
We tailgated with the Tiger Pimp Nation which was interesting - I don't know if that group is still around and didn't know quite what to make of it since I don't drink anymore. (For that matter, there are my LSU drinking days and my post LSU drinking days: 2 entirely different perspectives on LSU football games that I could write a book about.)
LSU won the game. The trip to Columbia was otherwise unremarkable, but I'm glad I went since I'm trying to visit all of the away sites before I go.
I've been to all of the SEC venues except Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and, of course, Missouri. If you ever get an opportunity to go to Knoxville to see the Tigers play there, do it. It is a great place, very nice folks, Neyland Stadium sits right on the Tennessee River. All that orange. It's quite a sight. Some of the fans tailgating- or whatever they call it - on their boats.

Been there, little 5 points is on a decline but prolly no worse than tigerland. With the fair being there parking would be strange as I always recall parking on the fair grounds.
Stadium is not centrally located to anything.
Trip requires local transportation and game day transportation.
On a side note, got into a bar brawl after gamecock fans overheard us talking about how great Todd Walker was in college after he turned a DP in an ACLS game on the tv.

I live about 45 minutes from Columbia and have been to several games there. USCe fans are welcoming. Stadium is just OK and is of course off campus. There are a few decent restaurant/bars in the Five Points area but not a lot else to do there. If you are coming in for an extra day or two and haven't been to Charlotte, it's only an hour from Columbia and has a cool "Uptown" scene.
