If he were to beat Bama, he'd put himself in a really good position. Assuming he's not like 4-4 in that scenario or anything like that.

If we win out or show good game Managment, game plans, appropriate adjustments, but still lose 1.. I'm all for it.

He's modernizing practice, recruits like crazy, and has seen a lot since his Ole Miss stint. I bet he's a helluva lot better than Miles.

coach is saying all the right things right now. We'll have to see how it translates to the field. Pure energy style of play works in the short term, but isn't sustainable throughout the whole game. When the defense/offense adjusts, you have to be able to stay the course and keep a constant energy level.

Coach O is a great person to jumpstart the program and bring some excitement back, but I'm not sure he's the long term answer.

It's impossible to know without him coaching the rest of the season first.

Ok. I'm a dummy. I admit I have no idea how to evaluate a coach, other than W-L (which doesn't help Coach O). When I look at a prospective coach, though, I'd like there to be a successful coach with a similar style/persona/background to compare them with: Saban's like Belichek, Herman's like Meyer, etc. Is there any top notch head coach in college or pro similar to BeBe? Not just his personality and speech (which are unique), but going from position coach to head coach, never being a coordinator. Seems a gamble for a supposedly elite program to pick the one guy different from all other head coaches. Or am I not thinking of someone...

1a. Jimbo
1b. Herman
2. CEO

If we somehow strike out with our first targets, I'm all for it IF he proves to be a phenomenal coach and get us to a great record, saves the season, and gets us at least to a good bowl.

If he wins every game the fans will not poo poo the hiring of O if we get a big name OC. I have inside knowledge of the fan base.

No. No more of that. If we're going to keep churning out NFL stars, it's time to start winning more hardware with them.

If a coach's appreciation is what you want, we just fired a guy who turned down his alma mater at least twice.

Yes, I agree totally. We don't even need Herman. Just his OC Applewhite. Apple white is a Louisiana kid who went to the Univ. of TX and will be able to recruit that state.

No.

You don't hire people at this level who have no PROVEN program running ability.

Not all great coordinators run great programs.

Not the same skill set

I've been saying the same thing. We can't risk giving the keys to a guy that went 3-21 in the SEC during his only stint as permanent HC. We just can't.

If O wants to be a HC he should go to a lower level school and kick arse. Then the big boys will come calling.

I respect CEO, but he shouldnt be an option. LSU should pick TH or JF and full court press and not take no for an answer. Do whatever it takes to get their man. Just like Bama with Saban. If it takes $7M for them to say yes get it done!

Hey do you know the Minn Vikings coach?? He was a DC forever

Yeah, he was a DC. O is a Dline coach. I'm not saying it's impossible that O could succeed. I'm saying it's unlikely. And that's what hiring a head coach is about - getting the best odds. O is bad odds. Someone like Herman is good odds. Guys like you are just odd.

I will have a wait and see approach to Coach O. He has said all the right things this week. Let's see how this team looks over the next few weeks
