FSU needed Lange to not have his best stuff, Coomes to misread a ball in the dirt, Smith and Freeman to misfire on a double play ball, Robertson to have a bad day at the plate, Watson to have a bad day at the plate in order to be in the game. See how that works?

I think the fact Freeman has great speed had much more to do with the RF's error than tossing a beach ball in the stands. It was a one run game with less than 2 outs. The RF wanted to make sure Freeman didn't advance to 3rd on the hit. Unfortunately (for him and FSU), he rushed the play which led to a Benny Hill episode

If Dup had not gotten a hit right there, would the OP have made this thread and said that the beach ball caused Duplantis not to hit, thus possibly causing LSU the game?

Beach balls get onto the field quite often. And I would say it is never intentional. Usually people get booed when the ball gets to the field.
