Worst case, he tanks for 3 years and we cut him, probably with a big buyout since it's a long deal.

Average case, takes 2-3 and makes progress to see success on the back end.

Best case, he succeeds immediately (succeed as in better than johnny) and we ride it out.

....I feel like 6 years is ridiculous.

Well, I didn't realize everyone on the rant loved Wade this much...Or rather hated johnny that much. I'll just bookmark this for next year then.

When the financials come out, I'm sure opinions will change.

This is dumb.

If he tanks, then we are exactly right where we are currently...

I'm expecting his first 2 years to be pretty bad. Year three we see bug improvement, but we are coming from the basement.

Year 4-6 will be his true evaluation years anyway.

give him 2-3 years to get HIS team worked out. Then in those next 3 years he needs to go at least 2 of 3 to the tourney.

But we signed him to a long term deal bc he is a young and upcoming coach. We didn't want any chance to let him bounce due to something we could control (ie contract length)

I agree. I personally would much rather have Johnny Jones for a few more years. I think he needed more time. Why take a chance and bring this guy here?

LSU basketball is a major rebuild project right now. He needs a long term deal in order to sign the kind of players that are reasonable for him to recruit. Wade's not going to be able to go after 1 and done guys now. He is going to have to convince good players that he will be here long term for them if they commit to LSU.

Also, IMO Alleva had to go with a coach with high upside. He knows his coaching hires have not been good.

Wade was in a good spot at VCU. Gotta give him some security to take over this program as it currently stands.

Sweet Jesus on a Tostito. Let it play out.
This isn't a quick turnaround. The roster is not great. They are undisciplined and far from being a team.

The guy hasn't even arrived and you're already talking about being "fricked." How many folks do you think would leave a secure job for one that didn't offer a great deal of security?

First Alleva is criticized for being cheap and not doing what it takes. Now, he does what it took to land Wade.

LSU fans. Misguided, angry and stupid.

Almost going winless in conference with a clueless coach is worst case. Been there done that.

This guy is light years ahead of Jones on coaching acumen.

You're wrong. You seem unsure in your OP, so I'll just say you're wrong.

What's even more funny is the super low expectations fans are talking about. Lol it's like if they all agree 10 wins is good Wade can't fail. Jones won 19 games his first season with less than half the talent on this roster Wade should threaten 20.

Then he followed it up with a 10 win season with all of this talent you speak of. Thanks for your opinion Collis Temple.

A big NO I don't feel that way at all. If I was an expert in coach searching maybe maybe not. Dumb post
