In the book Big Blue Wrecking Crew (about the Parcells Giants), a bad picture is painted of this former Tiger.
He was a New Orleans native, all-SEC in 1981, and 5th round pick of the Giants. He lasted one year with them. I guess I would say he is a victim of the 1980’s cocaine wave. He was apparently living under an overpass in NO in 2014, and arrested in 2015 for using a cinder block to beat a guy in a dispute over a found wallet.
Never knew about that stuff...

Yes, and Ramsey Dardar used to empty my trash when he was a trusty at the DPS Barracks.

Sounds like an accurate picture.

That’s sad to hear. He was a big strong mean dude. I almost blew my knee out trying to guard him playing pickup b-ball at the old field house in the mid 80s.

Played with these guys on the 80's , Ramsey was a super nice guy . I think both went down a bad road when they got pro contract money .

Extremely. Literally just a "big ol' country boy." So sad what happened to him and Malcolm.

I wouldn’t blame the book for painting a bad picture at this point

Ah come on dude, doesn’t everyone beat someone with a cinder block every now and then? Stop being such a hard arse

Hell, yeah! A buddy of mine played freshman ball for Holy Cross. He was a safety. St Aug dumped the ball to their TE, Malcolm Scott. My buddy came hard downhill and popped Scott savagely. Scott ran him over, stepping on him twice, on the way to the end zone. This didn’t cause him to quit football. What caused him to quit was when he staggered to the sideline and the coach grabbed his facemask and chewed his arse while twisting his head side to side.

He was working as a bouncer at the door to manage the crowd at Walk-Ons near the Dome for the Saints opener in 2018. I spoke to him for a while and introduced my daughter to him. Seemed like a nice guy. I hope he is doing well as he went through some tough times.

One of my earliest memories of LSU football. I think he was #88. I remember my dad saying “Big Malcom Scott!!”
