I'm just saying people will pay it. Is it unreasonable? Of course it is.

I understand what you are saying, But it's just plain old price gouging I don't blame them for trying to monopolizing on a good situation but $200 per spot?? They're trying to Sandusky us! They will not get more than $60 tops for those spots on gameday. I park in that lot every week for Saints games and pay $40 which is ridiculous because I could cross the street and pay $20 but we like the spot so we pay. We expected it to be higher for the BCS game but not Giraffe Pussy high!!

Anyone know how much parking in the parking garage of the superdome or the basketball stadium is going to be and if you can just show up and pay and go in day of the game?

Anyone who thinks we are just bitching and to suck it up are idiots. All that does is entitle these assholes to price gouge. There is no reason for a quadruple increase in price. I am all for free enterprise but if you work in downtown New Orleans like I do, the parking lots run roughshod over pricing.

They are still collecting their monhtly contracts for the day and just becuase you have one, does not mean you get a spot.... you have to pay the fee on top of the contracted rate that you paid for that day of the month already.

I parked in the Dome garage in 2007 and had no trouble whatsoever. I don't remember the price, so it must not have too high. There were tons of spaces available. I was shocked.

You think $200 is high? They (central parking) wanted $50,000 for the lot on the corner of Poydras and S.Rampart (across from Walk ons)for the entire week. Guess what....someone paid their price. They will sell every spot. Many are already sold. We bought 15, but we didnt pay $200 a spot. It helps to have a good relationship with CP and not be a complete bitch about it when they first tell you their price. They will negotiate with most people if you buy enough spaces.

Try Premium Parking, they bought a few of Centrals lots last year. They might be cheaper, but thats unliekly.

Nope, they want $300 per spot because they want you to book it for three days. They were the most expensive of all the lots.

It is legit. We parked there in '07. I called the guy who runs the garage this morning and asked about it. He said that it was the way to go. It is a very easy in and out to Loyola and then to I-10

200 on gameday is cheap compared to the magnitude of this game. Jerrys world was 50 in advance and 125-175 on gameday and people were more than happy to pay that for the Oregon game

We have a great relationship with CP but I am not going to let them Sandusky me over a 6 foot by 9 foot piece of concrete.

Man, this guy I know has a lot one block from the Dome and he's selling RV spots for 2,000 apiece. $200 sounds cheap.

I also used ParkWhiz.com for my parking ticket at the Cotton Bowl last year. The lots on that site are definitely legit. Another idea is what I've done in the past......................that is, park your car uptown near St Charles Ave and ride the streetcar to Poydras. Get off and walk up Poydras to the Dome. The streetcars run pretty late so, you should still be able to catch it back to your car after the game. I've done it many times and it's always worked out.

I know the same guy and that is for the weekend and he is in it to make money which is cool. An RV takes up 5-6 spots 2000/5 $400 per spot/3 days $135 per day. Not bad deal, I only need one days worth.

I don't think there is any time you have to be there. I told him we were planning on being there around 11 or so and driving in from BR. If you are reserved the Girod St parking garage, here is their info. You can call them and talk to them to ask any questions. They were very willing to answer any questions when I called. He also said that if you have a reserved spot, they don't start charging after the game till 6 am the next day.

If you are not familiar with N.O. I would suggest using google maps to see the easy access on and off the interstate.
