There used to be a rule that hitting the yellow line is a HR. Was that park specific? Am I retarded?

Specific MLB park(s) had such a rule.

I just assumed it was park rule that top of the wall is still in the park. It definitely hit the top of the wall then came back in. Though it's possible, you couldn't see it bounce off anything behind it. Therefore if the top of the wall is still in the park it was correctly called. If the top of the wall is not part of the field then they blew a terrible call. The announcers were the normal state crew and they seemed to have no doubt that it was not a hr, so I'll defer to them.

I hate the yellow line. Makes it harder to see the ball. Just leave it green and it makes that play much easier to see, especially if it isnt used to mark a homerun

No video but where was the camera angle they used to show the late inning right fielder's catch? Would have been beyond definitive

each ballpark has ground rules.read before each game, determines what a home run is.

Of course they do but has nothing to do with camera angle...May have been pointed elsewhere on the no no

I've never heard of a park where simply hitting the line is a HR when the line is just on top of a "normal" fence or wall.
There are odd cases like in Houston where on the giant wall in left center if it hits the line, or one one side vs the other, it is either a HR or in play. That's because you basically have to hit it out of the stadium to hit it over that wall.

or they could use a black line instead of yellow, a white ball would be more easily seen hitting a black line than a yellow one like last nights yellow line...

I thought it hit off the top of the wall then hit the guys arm that was right behind the wall and bounced back in but wasn't clear good call by the ump crew.

I thought it could of hit the guy behind the wall, but video wasn't clear

At normal gamespeed I thought it was a homer. Guess I was wrong

There seemed to be a pause when it hit/crossed the wall and returned to the field. That delay suggested to me that it made it over the wall, but watching on my phone it was impossible to tell definitively.

If you were watching the game yesterday it was clear as day on the replay that the ball hit the fan's hand and dropped straight down and back into play.
