Still is an area that we really need help. Does anyone think Coach Joe can help?

He's going to turn Dual Threat Joey into Drew Brees

I’m hearing we are getting another big time QB coach as an analyst and a highly respected DC to come in as a defense analyst.

Why not get them now? That should help with recruiting.

If so, what's the hold up as signing day is about 1 week away.

I'm pretty sure recruits already know, if it is a sure thing

Analyst cannot work on the field, but can still be a great help.

I see Brady benefitting recruiting and the screen game the most. Maybe even adding some of his own schemes into Ensminger playbook.

Played WR was a WR coach.

Hopefully he can do more with the WR and just making the offense more QB friendly.

I think We’re trying to make RPOs more of a main course than a seasoning.

In the next 2 weeks we will have a better picture of where we stand. We will see who we finished with recruiting wise and likely will add some coaches/analysts.

I know a lot of us were hoping to see a big splash OC hire like Kendal Briles, but that was never going to happen. I like the commits we have so far and I think Brady will help evolve the offense.

I was disappointed in Cregg who I initially liked, but I'll reserve final judgement to see what he does with better health, talent and depth at OL as well as what we all hope is a better offensive gameplan.

Joe Burrow improved as the year went on. It’s still an incomplete sample and the real test will be how they follow Burrow but as of right now the QB coach has done a good job with what he was given when he took the job. People may disagree with how he did as an OC but the position he coached was good this year and not the problem with the offense at all.

Why? Has he ever recruited? He was a GA at Penn State, so I doubt he recruited much there. Then he went to the Saints where he obviously didn't recruit.

That doesn't mean he'll be a bad recruiter, but we have no evidence he can recruit.

From today's official announcement of Brady joining the staff:

Saturday Down South
quote:

Brady takes over the role previously held by Jerry Sullivan, who stepped down from the passing game coordinator role this offseason. During Brady’s two seasons with the Saints, New Orleans finished both seasons as top 10 offenses in the NFL.

Should he come in and add another dimension to LSU’s offense, there’s a chance he could one day replace Steve Ensminger as the program’s offensive coordinator. As noted in a statement from Ed Orgeron, Brady will bring his knowledge of the RPO game to Baton Rouge, which could be a game-changer for Joe Burrow and the offense in 2019.

We certainly hope so. JB should flourish in the RPO.

quote:

“Joe is energetic and innovative,” Orgeron said of LSU’s new passing game coordinator. “He spent the past two seasons working with Sean Payton at the New Orleans Saints and he brings to our staff extensive knowledge of the RPO game. He’s an outstanding coach that will be a tremendous asset to our football team.”

If he truly is innovative then that means he really had his hands in developing the Saints' offense. We'll see, but sounds promising.
