They may have been tamed top 10 at the time but ATM is not a good team.

The most current rankings are the only ones that matter. It would be pretty pathetic if we tried to claim a Top 20 win over a 4-4 Auburn team.

None of this matters until the final ranking really. I agree with the OP in that many teams in the Top 10 in September, October, and even November are distant memories scrapping for a bowl game or at least a decent bowl game near January.
