I have been wondering for years since STTDB got neck banned how the band hasn't been able to find/play another song that has equal or greater ability to get the team/students/crowd pumped at big moments?

We see "bring back neck" all the time on here, but we all know with the microphones and live TV, its most likely won't happen because of the students-- which is not my point.

My question is in recent years has the band attempted to find another badass song to play in crucial moments? Why aren't we hearing new impactful songs being tried?

Note: I'm all about tradition and the classic golden band jams, not suggesting to get rid of the classics, just find something new/unique to replace neck with that the team/fans will love..

We will just find another set of vulgar words to go along with it. Ban it. Repeat

I agree with this. The band's halftime shows have been great this year. Major improvement.

I've got faith that they will find a new "Neck"

My question is why can't they play it when they know TV is in a commercial. The "red hat" guy is on the field. You know when TV is broadcasting the game and when they aren't.

A few tuba players a couple years ago wrote a new song that had a similar sound but wouldnt fit the beat of the STTDB chants, but as soon as they played it the student section chanted the same chant anyway....even though it did not fit the beat at all.
Cant cure stupid

I don't know how they could frick it up... Some version of Tuba Quake that doesn't leave gaps for vulgar shite would indeed be awesome.

they really are so unoriginal.

I've noticed the whole "...and beat the shite out of em!" on first down is starting to catch on more and more. I can hear it from SEZ if I listen for it. A group of like 5 people people would do that when I was a student from 09-13 and nobody thought it was cool or did it with them and it never caught on. Maybe those guys are still in school after all this time and the millenials rolling in think its the cool thing to say now.

There was literally a song they added right after neck was dropped but the students added STTDB to it and the song only lasted a few games.

Wasn't as good as neck, but it was an attempt at least.

All of the Lights got banned last year too. At least they're playing Right Above It now.

I was watching the dvr replay of LSU/Ole Miss last night and I was amused that the TV personnel do not know all the LSU chants. Brent and Jesse were making some discussion toward the end of the game and in the background they had a close up of the LSU Student Section with the band and crowd background sound. They were singing Oh Wee Oh... It went on for several bars and the TV people never caught it...

ESPN has completely muted the band and student section. It doesn't matter what they say or how loud they say it, it ain't making it to TV.

I think other fans who bring children are the reasons Neck is still banned.

I guess we'll find out Saturday if CBS has made the same adjustments.

No doubt, in this PC world we live in, can't have STTDB openly accepted by the band/university. Not a good look LOL

This...and I think it's happening with CBS, too.

Watch other games, even other SEC games, and you hear and see a lot more of the band and student sections.

Snake Pit would be cool, too, but it's a little too slow.

It's the opposite. PC world would love to have all that crap displayed on TV but "common sense" says it's not a good thing to put on TV. Think......
