He screwed up. I want Les gone, but I also want Alleva gone
Alleva had Les gone then F. King Alexander went above his head and didn't allow him to make the change for political bs. Les was out and Jimbo was coming because of Alleva but you want him gone. Makes no sense.

ah, so cause them openly dismissing leaks actually dismisses the legitimacy of said leak, yeah mmmmkay
Let me try to help. I went to public school for a few years:
Oh, so because the people involved openly dismissed the leaks; then the legitimacy should now be questioned of "said" leak.
Yeah ok (sarcasm)

Just because DALSU said it was done don't mean it was done.

I believe this was a ploy by the higher ups to :
1. let miles know he is on very thin ice
2. announce to all agents of coaches to submit resumes for next year
3. basically light a fire to let players, coaches and fans
that status quo is unacceptable.
4 told Aleva to STFU and let the soup boil
5. and at last second called off the hitman and let Doofus A tell Doofus B that he still had a job.
Got all these things without spending a dime, with no one holding a smoking gun and many messages delivered and status evals passed out left and right.
This was worthy of illuminati service!
peace out!

We know for certain that neither he, nor anyone in his administration, took any steps to discredit the leak. As such, he is at the least complicit in it spreading

Do you have any info on knowing that Alleva leaked it to the press?
Of course not.
It's just the popular thing to say.

If he wasn't completely incompetent, the only other strategy would have been to turn up the heat on miles to force him to change the offense. If that wasn't the plan, Alleva is completely inept.

Thats not how things work and not what happened.. Why people believe anything from any of the major parties at this point is beyond me. Every player is in cover your arse mode which means none of it is worthy of factual reference

pretty terrible plan considering every recruit now has to wonder if Les will be there to see them graduate and every potential OC will now wonder if they should tie their sails to what might not be the most stable boat on the water.

The word to describe Alleva's actions is HUBRIS.

Any proof that Alleva was the person who leaked it? I haven't seen any to date.

Nobody, except for those in the administration, knows for certain what steps anyone in the administration took to discredit them.
To say otherwise is pure conjecture...

Anderson should have had no comment on the subject, WHICH by the way, is what Alleva did and gets criticized for ... not commenting on rumors and leaks...
I don't like Alleva, but I don't know that I fault him in all this. If he was trying to get rid of Les, that is certainly a reasonable position to take under the circumstances and it is a decision he is paid to make. Now that F King has butted in, there is no accountability for the AD's judgment on the matter.
at the end of the day, Alexander and the BOS are the responsible parties.

Either he never had the authority to remove Miles and he should be fired to letting it get to the point it did when the president got involved, OR...he DID have the authority and FKA killed it in the 11th hour. In which case King should be fired.
There's a third scenario -- Alleva had the authority to make a hiring/firing recommendation, but had to get it approved by the University President. Any contract, etc, would obviously need to be approved by the BOS.
Now, why Alleva didn't have the President's blessing the whole time is a mystery to me. That shows a certain level of incompetence.

If you are looking for a source of leaks, a good starting point is who benefitted from the leaks.
Posted on 12/1/15 at 3:56 pm to MNCscripper
Randy Rosetta reported that Alleva leaded the story to Rabalais.
Charles Hannagriff has basically confirmed that without being willing to actually say the name "Alleva". He won't name names but called the source "very high up".
Many have noted that the article doesn't get written without approval from the Athletic Department.
