First read QB who likes to take off running

You nailed it. His brain is SO WIRED for the designed first read throw, and if not there, he tucks and runs. I may have missed it, but I did not see any exceptions.
That is 100% of what we have seen in college also.
How would anyone expect this extremely strong habit to change?
Seriously. How do you change his firm mental mindset/habits?
Not by wearing a green shirt in the spring or fall practices your not.
It has to come from deliberate and explicit NEW APPROACHES by Cam and his team.
How does this come? He has drilled in the wrong thought processes so amazingly over a long period of time, that a very smart re-wiring of his eye/head movement and brain must occur, or he will be the exact same QB for 2015 and 2016 as well.
The game is not going to "slow down" any more for him than it already has.
More play/experience with the same mindset/habits will result in the same things we have seen, and which the defenses can sit back and watch film on and get the extra half-second jump on reading him that makes all the difference at the SEC level.
You know Miles will see good things in him in the spring and spring game and fall camp. You can bet on it, because he will not be truly tested, so he will look good to Miles and Cam just as he did previously.
What are the ways he can get real PRACTICE to change this drilled in pattern to the better, and substantially to the better.
There has to be a way, but what is that way? Whitfield to be hired to help Cam?

Most kids don't change much on film. Your game either translates well or not in most cases. You can be coached to do a lot of things, but instincts take over. Jennings looks no different than his high school film and that is actually pretty common.

Well supposedly we have coaches that are better than his high school coaches and after 2 years in the system.....IT'S SUPPOSED TO CHANGE
Clearly thats what the coaches thought when they recruited him right?

1. Very accurate thrower
2. Stays in the Pocket well even when protection breaks down.
3. All the plays probably threw the ball 85% of the time.
4. Ran when protection broke down
5. Ran designed QB Draws
6. Ran two run/pass options to the left and one to the right.
7. I did not see a tendency to run but his tendency was to pass.
8. Hell of a QB in High School

True. Great as a HS QB. The same formula not so good against SEC D's. You seem to not see that he goes almost exclusively with the designed pass play for his primary target NO MATTER WHAT, and if this does not work, he runs.

has anyone seen Felipe Franks's HS film. Is he any different?

And the reason Miles absolutely, positively without question LOVES HIM
He wants him to take the first read, then run for positive yards. "No sacks, No picks." Thats all he tells his qbs, day after day after day after day
No risk, No reward. Until Miles moves on, thats the only style of offense LSU will see

Qb that lacks the arm strength an accuracy to pass. Slow on decision making.

Looks the same to me. Questionable accuracy but with quick hands. Stares receivers down. Looks like a quality HS QB with solid potential in college. Others on this post have given a better breakdown. He would be hard for many programs to pass up. We have seen him make some great throws and even good decisions with the football. BUT we have also seen more of the same struggling to get into a rythm and develop deeper into his natural talent. I hate to say it but he is a quality backup moving forward, unless he puts in some deep work this year to outplay Harris.

I also noticed that, almost without exception, he makes a quick glance toward the receiver of choice just before the ball is snapped. I don't know if this is still his tendency at LSU, but in the SEC, the DB's will drool over that.
The result will likely be a tightly covered receiver, possibly double covered. Hence no open target, no progression to another receiver, an obvious hesitance in the pocket, resulting in either a sack or an attempt to take off and run to salvage the play.
Surely the coaches are smart enough to pick this up and work with him to fix this!!!?????

There is film on the recruiting page of a HS 2016 guy LSU just offered who has 37 other offers. He, in the highlight clip,"almost exclusively" went to his 1st read.
Let's give both our guys a little more time to catch up with SEC football.

The biggest thing I saw is a spread QB playing in the shotgun formation where he doesn't have to look downfield while dropping back he could probably be a serviceable QB if we played him in the shotgun not gonna work under center 95% of the time same with Harris or any other spread QB we are recruiting.

Ditto! We recruit spread or option QB's and put them under center in a power I formation. If we are going to run I formation and Pro style offense, recruit those type of players.

Agreed. Miles fears another Lee situation and loses confidence. He likes to play it safe with his QBs until they're trusted.
Mett and Flynn had his full trust by their senior seasons and the playbook opened up to our satisfaction.
Jennings/Harris: It comes down to coaching between Cam and Miles and the development has to be sooner than when they're seniors and finally have the trust to get more aggressive on offense.
If our QB play steps up by 25%, LF and this running group are going to have a huge 2015 along with our playmakers (Dural, Dupre, Diarse ect) doing what we expect them to do.

the specific words may be differently, but from EVERY SINGLE bit of evidence seen, this is certainly the gist of what Miles tells his OC and QB.
