Wait. You're willing to give this 2.5 years regardless of what occurs in those 2.5 years?

I mean, I'm not saying it will happen but what if we ofer the SEC this year and win no more than 2 SEC games next year?

I'm as disappointed as anyone but we are a very young team. A true freshman qb with 2 true freshmen running backs and a pair of true freshmen receivers. They all have to work/play together. I agree, mistakes were made in every aspect of the game last night. Hopefully all will learn from it.
But to echo or expand on part of the original post, we as fans need to support this team...our team. Not showing up for games, or booing a coaching decision...the players see this as no support for the team, for them. Show up...support the team. If you don't want to go, give your tickets to someone who will.

Forget about trying to reach some of these Chicken Littles on this board. But what you're saying here makes plenty of sense. As they showed last night, we have played TWENTY FRESHMEN this season (Only Tennessee has played more). You ain't winnin' a lot of SEC games if you're doing that. We'll be fine. But our young guys are going to have to get their experience this season. And actually, our OLine played better last night than they did against MSU. They were opening up running lanes with no problem........................until we went away from that strategy. Additionally, they did a good job of maintaining the pocket for Harris.................until he decided to leave it for no sane reason on a number of occasions.

you are the first person I've read today that actually saw what happened. we got away from running the ball and tried the "spread" that everyone has been clamoring for and it simply didn't work. why? because harris couldn't hit the broad side of a barn last night. and then he began to run. he wouldn't stay in the pocket and he missed the only receivers he saw.

i'm extremely disappointed to say I think the young man lost it completely and freaked out. I hope it wasn't fear but I fear it was. none of these cowards on here will admit he is not our savior since they begged for him and called miles an idiot for not playing him. now the kid has a real tough outing and everyone is calling for miles head.

the reason we lost that game the way we did was our defense. gave 'em scores on their first 4 or 5 possessions. it's as simple as that.

There is no need to provide them with answers. Regardless of what they think, we still pull in top recruits and we have a solid, talented, YOUNG team that is going to take their lumps this season, but will be a team no one will look forward to playing the next 2-3 years. Everyone can coach from their couches. This is the SEC, you cant field 20 true freshmen and not expect to take your lumps. We just lost to the #2 team in the nation, had we played better on our first 4 offensive possessions it would have been a much closer game. Even Brandon Harris stated that in his interview, took full responsibility for the fumble, leaving the pocket too early and just missing wide open receivers. The kid has a bright future at LSU, this team has a bright future at LSU.
Let the panic-button crew call for heads to roll, coaching changes, etc etc..The record Miles has put together speaks for itself, he isn't going anywhere soon no matter how much it pisses them off..Enjoy watching this young team grow, it's going to be fun watching this group just get better and better!

No one was expecting to win the SEC this year. I was expecting a competitive team. 10 and 2 would have been a dream season, but I was expecting a 9 and 3 or 8 and 4. I would have been okay with 7 and 5. We are likely not to win an SEC game this season. We may not even be bowl eligible. Maybe you're content with losing. Losers usually are.

UT is playing tons of freshman because their program has been a dumpster fire of coaches for the last several years leading to poor recruiting.

But, as La Place Mike points out, they actually look BETTER than us right now!

Being non-competitive in with a coach who has been with you as long as Miles has is inexcusable. PERIOD

you couldn't be more wrong. we lost that game on defense the first 5 auburn drives. you know, the ones they scored on. the coaches were trying to settle harris down by running the ball and the offense fricked it up. we actually scored our TD and were most definitely in the game only 10 down. once again the defense got burned and we tried to pass the ball to catch up. big mistake. we can't pass the ball. and then harris decided he didn't like the pocket and began to run away from it and any play we called disintegrated. the problem is he's in college and he played like a HS QB. when things get tough, run.

sure you have pal. I'll bet you are the type that thinks miles is great at player and game management, OTFD and preparation right? you think none of that has cost us under his tenure?

You think any of that cost us last night?

Or him quitting on 1-9?

go back and watch every game from 2005 til now and educate yourself. get back with me then.

First, Tennessee hasn't played Auburn or Miss State. I believe those teams are both ranked in the Top5 now?

Second, if you actually thought LSU was going to win 9 games this season, then you don't know shite about SEC football.

You guys are no different than the idiots calling for Sabans job on the Bama board last night.

We lost that game in the first 3 drives. All 2nd down mistakes. First drive on first 7 yards off left tackle. Second down Fumbled snap. Lost 4. 3rd down and 7 ran it, punt. Then Field Goal AU. Second drive HB Dive for 8 yds. second down Airmiled pass. 3rd down crap pitch, punt. AU TD. 3rd drive 9 yd run of tackle. 2nd down miscommication with RB, 3rd down crap run. punt, AU TD. 17-0 after 3 drives where you faced a 2nd and 3,2, and 1. That was my problem with the coaching. That game was over with 5 minutes left in the 1st quarter.

Huh? How is failure to gain 3, 2, and 1 yards with 2 downs to do it coaching?

I was there - it was lack of execution all night -- we gained 5 - 7 yards pretty consistently running the ball on 1st down - then shite the bed time after time.

This.

I have been very positive about the program until this year. It's frustrating to watch this crap year after year. Even last years offense was hard to watch and it was prolific. The Defense is losing ground. The program is losing the fan base so something needs to change for the better soon.

Wow like i don't know we are 4-2 and have 6 conf games left. Look There were alot of people in purple and gold to blame last night. Every year(maybe Day) there is a bitch, i know debating things is gonna happen, but you SOBs go way overboard. We signed this great class, but people get mad cause Cam Rob, Landon Collins, and Speedy Noil go elsewhere. You know what, no matter what some kids just dont wanna go to LSU. They dont have the zeal that some of us have. The fence aint coming down. We snag guys from all kinds of states. Lets route for the guys that wanted to come here, instead of bitching about who didnt come. Enjoy watching a game in which these kids wanted to ply for your team. It does no good to fire anyone right now. Call me an idiot if it makes you feel better. We will argue about it when the coaching changes board opens. Sorry for anyone i cursed are called an idiot. This board just brought me down bigtime today.

Boom, you just outed yourself. Last years offense was one of the greatest in LSU history, and you were still too butthurt to be able to just freaking enjoy it instead of finding something to bitch about. There will never be anyway to please people like you. And there is no need to.

That's probably because we were 56th in yards per play and 89th in plays per game.

Our most prolific offense in a long time was still like watching paint dry. You take Mett off of last year's team converting third downs at the rate he did and we are in DEEEEEEP shite.

Doesn't matter. They are younger than we are and do not have the talent we have and they are still competitive.

I was expect a competitive season with either 8 to 9 wins. That is only 4 to 5 SEC wins. Are saying that wasn't realistic? Were you expecting to lose all the SEC games? How many SEC wins were you expecting? I would have been OKay with a 7 and 5 season. That would have been only 3 SEC wins.
