I know I know...it's been posted about at length.

I don't know why I'm still so mad about his comments last night though. Usually I just shake it off and say "he's and idiot". But his blistering, nationally televised rebuttal, about an inaccurate report just absolutely made no sense. Dude just had a axe to grind against LSU last night.

He has no business even being on television. He's the worst, and I've never met anyone that agrees with anything he says. I want his twitter page to crash with angry LSU fans.

Do anyone have a link to what May said? I must have stepped out when that part aired during the game. TIA

Yeah I didn't see either. I didn't get in until 7 and I was fast forwarding through all the commercials and analysis.

A random UT beat writer tweets something, May's organization runs with it as fact and he gets on air pointing the finger at LSU. It was bizarre, but there won't be any accountability.

What took it over the top for me was that idiot Laura Rutledge busting into Alleva's suite demanding answers. ESPN is awful.

Please open your mind to the fact that ESPN made him a schill and had him do that. It gets people buzzed (like you and me). That old saying bad publicity is better than no publicity. The reason I think May would lower himself to this is because he has seen his role steadily decrease with the network over the last year and a half. Just a theory.

Ha!

My TV was muted. I was wondering what the heck that woman was doing at the top of the stadium.

So ESPN is trying to compromise LSU's hire? Go figure.

That appears to be the game. Their end goal isn't to sabotage LSU. Their end goal is to protect and promote the University of Texas/Longhorn Network.

You can tell the younger posters...... Back in 2003, May was the ONLY guy on TV who was riding for LSU. He was the only guy who believed LSU could beat UGA twice.....and over the years, May has normally been a "friend" to LSU football.

Granted I also believe he went a little overboard, but the guy at least played college/NFL football.

There are two other current "blue bloods" in the SEC that they also want to protect as well.

Glad many of you are starting to get it.

But yes, in this instance, they need UT to make a homerun hire. Badly.

ESPN may have become the gossip channel for sports broadcasting...

Actually, I remember Mark May saying in 2007 that LSU should be in the BCS Title Game because of the talent and the only losses were in OT. Well--for once, he made a solid prediction. We also need to remember that, as journalists, their job is to create news even if there is none. Had ESPN any honor or respect, they would have waited until they had an official confirmation before airing the story. What they said was disrespectful to Coach O and LSU. The game itself was the moment to be savored. But--scratching itching ears is the MO of our media today.

THIS. Anyone remember Trev Alerts sticking up for the NY Times's #10 ranking of us in '03? Recall May fighting with him about it constantly (May picked us to lose to a hot Auburn team at home...Alberts picked us to lose to everyone just about not named Western Illinois or Arizona).

Honestly, I could care less in 2016 who does and does not like us in the media. BUT, that said, May has been a HUGE LSU promoter. The guy is obviously intelligent and can speak more clearly and profoundly than 9/10 of our fanbase, I am sure. Get over it.

Mark may has white knighted for LSU a good bit over the years. He isn't wrong that it makes us look like shite for "reports" and "rumours" to be coming from beat writers and clowns like Charles hannagriff while we not only have a game to play but are on the damn field.
