DECISION ON LSU-NORTH TEXAS GAME TO BE MADE WEDNESDAY

BATON ROUGE – LSU director of athletics Joe Alleva will announce on Wednesday where the Tigers’ football game against North Texas will be played on Saturday.

LSU officials continue to monitor the progress of Hurricane Ike. Contact has been made with Texas Stadium in Dallas, the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Independence Bowl Stadium in Shreveport and the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans as possible backup locations in the event the game cannot be played in Baton Rouge.

It will be played in Tiger Stadium. The future Mexican Rain storm will not make us change the game.

Ike is gonna slam into Brownsville, not Baton Rouge.

It's not as much about IKE as it is the safety of the stadium. They are trying to get some contract people in there to make sure it is safe to have people in the upperdecks

Please let your upper deck be unsafe for one more week. It would be so nice to watch you guys hang 100 on us 5 miles from my house rather than 465. The whole point of traveling was to see a true SEC gamenight experience but from what I read even if it is played there pre and post game activities will be limited, plus its going to rain regardless of a hurricane. If it is there please take pity on me and the four or five other UNT fans who make the trip.

Well yesterday they said the exact opposite, that the stadium will be fine, just concerned about the weather.

Welcome to the board. There are plenty of people who will be having extensive pre-game festivities regardless; the majority of which are on the Rant

I understand about being cautious and all, but that is ridiculous. Tiger Stadium is probably the strongest structure in the state. Its solid concrete. It would take a lot more than 100 mph winds to tear it up. Now, the scoreboards, suites, and shite, thats another story. But the structure itself, would not be damaged from the winds in Baton Rouge.

Didn't mean to get "that" under your skin....just good hearted ribbing...that's all. My apologies if it offended you that badly...that wasn't my intent.
