Comments. I witnessed the flags. Most ULL fans are great, but don't try to sell me some bullshite about what I know is not true. Y'all have a certain group of fans that you should be embarrassed about, but I guess you would rather act like they don't exist.

Do you agree with the poster who claims that Bama flags fly all over Lafayette?

NO, that was an extreme exaggeration.

My wife has lived in Tuscaloosa for 15 years, she has friends that have graduate from Bama so she is a supporter of Bama, but also she went to UL, and she is a fan of UL, and supports UL

Who you think she is rooting for when LSU is playing Bama if you thought Bama you would be correct.

Your dad played at Auburn and is a gump? Holy bandwagon fan...

I believe he always wanted to go there but got no offer and he and the coaches at Auburn had a falling out because he left his sophomore year. I dont know what happened. He never talked about it and has since passed away. But all the time I was coming up, he pulled for them but never had a single Bama item in the house. Weird, I know. My brother, on the other hand, had bama shite all over even though we lived in Louisiana. He is annoying.

I use to root for them but their fans have treated me and us LSU fans like crap. I went to ULL on an athletic training field trip and one of the things they talked about was how you can't wear LSU on campus and how much they hate them. We never did anything to them. They are just jealous at how good and successful we are compared to them. I also decided to root for Ole Miss last year against ULL in the supers and this ULL fan went off on me and told me how I should root for Louisiana teams. That is the reason why I will never root for ULL. The fans are jealous of LSU and hate us cause of our success.

Extreme is a strong word for this situation. There are MANY more Bama flags, hats, and Walmart Tshirt around Lafayete now than when I was growing up. Back then it was FSU, Miami, and Cowboys gear, some 49ers. It's a bandwagon town. When the Red Sox won the World Series, Lids in the mall sold out of their hats in 5 minutes. Most ULL fans are just on the bandwagon, be they are currently not horrible in football. Like all others, this fad will pass

I can say the same exact thing about Baton Rouge in the early 90's.

This happened in most markets that do not have a home MLB team.

and their monumental win against A&M around '97.

I happened to be in Laffy that day. Not at the game, I didn't give a shite about that, I had other business. On the way home, I heard the score on the radio and was like, "oh, okay." IIRC, A&M was in the depths of mediocrity at the time. While it may have been monumental in the Cajun's eyes, it wasn't exactly a shook up the world moment.
