I'm a very young at heart 39 years old if that helps you to direct me places!

I generally lean to a younger rather, than older crowd at home.I still get ID'd everywhere in the USA which makes me feel very young indeed!

Go walk around the campus before the game and find some friends. Pretty much everyone is nice(if they wear purple and gold), and you get free food and beer all day.

Go see Mike on Friday, and go to Chimes that night for dinner and drinks.

Well, you need to make friends with someone around here who likes to party. I suggest being on campus no later than 830 or 9. Wal around and enjoy the booze. We like our whiskey here.

Alos, you must see Mike's cage, the band parade down the hill and play our fight song, and you've got to tiger bait some Ole Miss queer.

I needed a college team to follow and having visited and been a huge fan of Louisiana, LSU were an obvious choice.

Damn, did you ever make the right choice.

Johnny,

All you have to do is walk around and talk out loud. With your accent and when people realize this is your first LSU game you will be given more free food and alcohol than you could possibly imagine.

I'd spend Friday walking around and seeing the sights. Saturday is going to be hectic with a 1430 kickoff. Roughly 45000 intoxicated youngsters between 18 and 30 will be on campus. Music and food is everywhere. If you're wearing LSU colors and let your accent show, you'll be fine, logistics-wise, on Saturday. Unfortunately, some groups will try to capture you for their tailgate, albeit it will be a gilded cage. You need to find a rover to walk around with, so you don't get tied down too quickly.

Good luck.

Welcome!
As a fellow Englishman, you are going to be blown away!! I have been enjoying the LSU atmosphere for ten or so years and it never gets old. You must watch the Golden Band from Tigerland make their way down the hill before the game and poke your head into a tailgate or two to sample the excellent food and beverages (think of the largest beer garden you have ever seen occupied with 100,000 of your best friends). Make sure you get there early though, there is too much to see before (and after) the game.

If you ask for a fig, someone will send you over to the Ole Miss crowd.

Hey Jonny, I'm an LSU grad that lives in Norwich...I know Kettering is a couple hour drive away, but we should hook up for a game sometime...enjoy your first trip to Tiger Stadium, nothing in the world like it...gonna be hard going back to a Kettering Town match after this one, haha.

if you go to one bar, go to Chimes...or at least go there first. They'll have some brews you are familiar with and some you are not, like the Abita brews, and of this latter (a Louisiana product) try the Andy Gator.

Go see Mike the Tiger on Friday, I usually find he is most active in the morning around 9 or 10 when the Tiger Whisperer guy is out there, or around 5pm he is stalking in his habitat. The football team will come down the hill around 12:20, and the band shortly after around 12:40. Lots to see and do near the stadium, but make sure you are on the hill early to get a great view of the players and band!

Enjoy your first game here in Tiger Stadium! Get loud and cheer as well!

I'm quite superior to the average American. Fascinating skills too numerous to mention...

In comparison to the reception by Parisians, the English were extraordinary in their hospitality.

Not while I was over there. Most were nothing but nice. Only had one really drunk, white trash and toothless lady yell at me for being a "yankee." Even then, her friends pulled her away and apologized. But, you'll run into those peopel everywhere.
