lately. He looked terrible Saturday night. Blown coverages, but the thing that really bothered me was he shunned the contact from their big RB on that long run.

Judging from previous games, Jefferson has no fear of contact. IMO some players thrive in muddy/rainy conditions and some don't.
Jefferson doesn't, however Adams does.

The blown coverage you are speaking off was a play designed to draw a safety and requires the other safety to rotate over. Jefferson's responsibility was the jet sweep and Battle needed to rotate. It was a good play call because that is not a lot of time for Battle to cover that type of ground. Jefferson could have called their bluff, but that really wasn't on him unless they failed to communicate before . He played a poor game 2 weeks in a row though. He did not look too confident on the surface. I know he's had ACL surgery, I wonder if that played a factor.

Agreed Jefferson is a decent college dB. He can be very physical at times. The major problem with the secondary is BP needs to run more man coverage a.d refuses to do so. I don't know why some people continue to do the same thing over and over when they are continually getting burned.

I thought that RB just put a dick move on him.

He's played bad the two games before this one and it wasn't muddy.

FIFY

RB stutter stepped and made a heck of a move to avoid Jefferson.

you may have a opinion on the other parts of his game whether right or wrong but one thing you are sure mistaken about is Ricky shunning contact. He is a very physical player and he does not shun contact in no kind of way.
I know the play you are talking about and he just got faked out, he didn't 'shun contact'.

I didn't think he avoided contact as much as he just got juked out of his mind and then stiff-armed. It was a bad play, but I don't think it was him being passive. Just flat footed.

At times he reminds me of JJ.
