Don't mess with the white jersey/gold pants combo. Leave as is. It is one of the most recognized and recognizable uniforms in the country. If you flip on a game on TV, you know instantly if it is an LSU game.
For the home game with the purple jersey, I guess I wouldn't mind some tampering/experimenting since most of us don't seem that attached to it, anyway, although I personally like it, just not as much as the white jersey. I don't particularly like the alternate shown in this thread. But if it would make the "young 'uns" happy.... But hands off the white jersey/gold pants.

Alabama, Florida State, and Florida all wore pro combat jerseys this year. I don' think it hindered their recruiting in any way.

Nor did it likely help it. Wearing one Pro Combat jersey a year probably does zilch to help recruiting. Players pick schools because of location, coaching, reputation, and while some recruits might like the Nike innovations in uniforms, I would doubt that it is a real factor in any player's decision about where to play.

That black jersey was a replica fan jersey they put out around 02-03. Nike did jerseys for teams but in alt colors they never wore. They had a black Texas jersey, a black Oklahoma. They sold those at the Champs in the Mall of Louisiana.

I have a hard time believing that either of those jerseys were ever considered by LSU athletics. The first one looks like a SU jersey and the second one looks like a t-shirt with some stripes.
