He is the problem, not the solution.

Although it has been hashed before, this is my take.
Both should be gone.
Miles has his issues and they have been put here tons of times, but no one can deny the program has been in a steady decline since the 2011 NC game. It is just time, sometimes, especially in sports things run their course. I like Miles as a man but as LSU's head coach he is limited and complacent.
Alleva, should have never been hired. If whoever did the hiring could not look up the Duke LaCrosse scandal, they need to be canned as well.
He should be fired for a few reasons:
1. He wouldn't pay Mulky Roberts, but he paid Caldwell way more than she was or is worth. She won with Van's players and has not brought in any talent to replace them. She has basically banked on problem recruits.
2. After meeting with Trent Johnson, he should have known it wouldn't work because he has no understanding or what it required to get the current crop of College BB players to school.
3. Him restarting the clock on Miles's buyout. He was taken advantage of by Mile's agent instead of rewriting a contract favorable to LSU. He thought Miles was showing goodwill with taking less money for more guaranteed years. He should have never agreed to that. It made Miles unfireable for another 4-5 years without eating a huge sum of money.
4. Agreeing to all Mile's demands, there is no reason his staff of has-beens were paid the amount of money they are.
5. He is a passive agressive. He continually promises fixes and changes to the season ticket holders but he either doesn't do them or he botches them up with costly mistakes.
Alleva has actually tried to correct his mistakes with Miles after what occurred last year. That is why we lost Chavis and why Less made other staff changes. I believe he prepared Miles for what could potentially happen if the team didn't improve this year. I also think Alleva thought he would be firing Miles next year.
Something forced his hand, whether it was an outreach from a Coaches agent or a push from some big donors, I think he had a plan for next year that had to be implemented early.
I don't trust him to make a good hire and if he is in bed with any of Sexton's clients, LSU will get screwed and overpay for whoever they get. I don't think Jimbo is coming here and I don't think he is worth the price to get rid of Miles and bring Jimbo here.
When all is said and done, Miles will be fired; when he would have probably retired next year and settled for less money to go away. We will end up with another coach on the cheap because "everyone" will use LSU for a raise to stay with the beast they know instead of the beast that is LSU football.
That is why Alleva needs to be fired. Again, he should have never been hired.

I'm all for fire alleva. But immediately renegotiate CLM's contract (if he stays) and get rid of the buyout, which he got for holding the program hostage

Don't get wrong - I think Alleva should never have been hired in the first place. That being said, maybe Miles is reaping some of the consequences of the little game that he and his agent played with Joe concerning the Ar-Kansas job back in 2012.
lol what's LSU's SEC record since 2012 ?

Alleva has done nothing wrong here. He has said no comment and evaluations will be made after the season.
But he leaked the "likely to be fired" story for Rabalais to run with it.
So, there's that.
That's "something" wrong in my book.

Just as I said. Perception wins out.
