Joe's attitude about this tells me they knew exactly what UF pulled and they aren't going to cater to it. If they felt UF negotiated in good faith I don't think we're this defiant.

Foley and Sankey made this bed, let them lie in it.

Did Joe say we were playing South Alabama at home on Nov 19th, or did he say we would be playing a home game on Nov 19th?

I doubt Florida comes here to play. I assume its South Alabama.

Opened himself up to look like an idiot, IMO. Now what if he is strong armed to move it?

Then he simply calls the SEC out for strong arming when they were the ones who dropped the ball in the first place.

LSU is the only part of this entire situation that make good faith efforts. Florida and the SEC did not.

Gary Danielson said on the radio an hour ago that the SEC cannot make moves now that hurt LSU in scheduling because LSU did all it can to try to play this game last week.

The SEC has been cornered to accommodate LSU.

Here's the problem. What if the only way LSU gets a chance to win the SECw is by playing Florida on 11/19? I still think the option of LSU-Ark moving to 10/29 and USA playing us on 11/12 is an option, as an example. Sometimes you have to not cut of your nose to spite your face. Joe standing firm about 11/19 is a little on the arrogant side. What he should have said is that LSU is not giving up a home game, and we are not playing 3 road games in a row.
I am guessing that the SEC will not allow a team to go to the SECCG if they only played 7 conferences games...unless the team who only played 7 conference games was a full game ahead of the next team...eg:

Florida 6-1
Tenn 6-2
Tennessee goes to SECCG due to beating Florida head to head

Florida 6-1
Tenn 5-3
Florida goes to SECCG

It'd be awesome if it's Florida on 11/19.

Does Gary Danielson really know anything though about how this will be done?

I agree. I just don't want to see LSU go 6-1 in the conference and be at home watching Alabama in the SECCG because we decided to NOT give in on moving the S Ala game. Saying, "we sure showed them!!!"

The question now is will it be USA or UF?

That's not how it works Chicken. Highest winning percentage wins out.

The uproar that would occur nationally with a SECCG featuring a 7-1 Bama with a loss to LSU (6-1) vs. a 6-1 Florida with 6-2 UT at home prevents this from occurring.

Alleva's statements today imply that if the SEC wants to fix this, UF is coming to Baton Rouge on the 19th to play the game.

How will it keep it from occurring? You think they are going to change the rules in the middle of the season? You can't really believe that, huh?

If LSU goes 6-1 as well as UF, do you honestly think we would be left at home and UF would get to go?

This mess is ALL on UF and the SEC. In no way should LSU be left cleaning this up. We would've played in Gainesville Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

Principle and standing up for what is right and best for LSU matters. And Joe gets it.

Now something may be worked out to play the game, but LSU now has leverage and a strong say in the matter.
