This idea of motivating the players and lighting a fire under their butts is WRONG!

Because football is a 60 minute game being "fired up" usually doesn't last for the entire 60 minutes. Yes, there is the occassional Appy State, but usually the team that has the better players and staff wins the game.

In games where the talent between two teams is close to the same, the team that stays grounded and is able to make intelligent decisions wins the game.

It's about teaching these young men to be consistant when they are behind or when they are ahead. It's about managing their energy levels so they don't use it all up in the first half and have nothing left for the second.

LSU will not get blown out of any game this year. No they may not win them all, but they will definitely have a chance to win them all.

I agree in principal....no one is going to drop 50 on us this year....and we will lose some game(s) this year in close contests....but dont underestimate the power of well-timed motivational ploys.

Basketball and Football. Got a basketball scholarship to play at Florida Southern in Lakeland, Fl. Had another offer from Arkansas at Monticello.

And you have no idea what it means to play a sport that has so many highs and lows. The key to being consistant is riding the "momentum" wave, not being overly or underly aggressive. This is the reason that screens and draws were created. To take advantage of the idiots who just pin their ears back and go after the QB.

The same reason a game is called a "trap game". Because the players are so high on a game they are about to play that they forget the game they are playing. Trap games happen because of swings in emotion, not momentum.

Incorrect, screens and draws were created to counter defenses that blitz frequently. It uses their pursuit against them. It has NOTHING to do with over hyped teams
