Isn't that what the Rant wants? Throw it to our elite WRs and let them go up for the ball?

This board confuses me...do we want the QB to throw the ball or not? Inquiring minds would like to know.

If Nuss is better than Jayden, and Walker is better than Nuss, I can’t imagine how talented our fourth stringer is. He must be incredible!

Jd has never been highly rated anywhere.

SO everyone here thinks he is that much better than JD and Nuss and its a no brainer he will start next year?

So why the portal rumors?

Think Matt Mauck’s intelligence and leadership coupled with elite arm strength and enough athleticism to keep defenses honest. He is extremely precise with his throws, especially down field. Biggest question for him is how fast can he get accustomed to the next level.

He's not a gunslinger, which is a good thing. Nuss this year is lucky to only have 3 ints in the 69 passes he has thrown. There have been multiple more that were either dropped or the defender couldn't get it. Kid acts like every pass is his last.

We have no idea if he is a gunslinger or not. He has yet to take a meaningful snap in a college football game. Again, in a year or three we could be saying the same about Howards first 69 passes.

I get it. The kid balled out in HS and looked great in camp. But to compare a blank canvas to one that is just getting his feet under him (Nuss) is disingenuous to them both.

He’s a very good athlete and has a strong arm. Tough and mature kid too. Doesn’t hurt he’s got great genetics and his dad taught him the position from an early age.

Great in high school and on paper.

That doesn’t mean shite in the SEC. Hope it pans it, very high ceiling.

I don’t think anyone here with any logic skills is saying that at all. He may develop into a far better QB than either of them. But he also may be a complete bust. He was good in high school. Hopefully he will be in college as well.

I believe he was the #2 rated QB of his class.

Maybe that’s not “highly rated”.

Stands firm in the pocket and doesn’t look to take off. Has a very quick release. Has great accuracy. Runs well

The best of all worlds would be for Howard/Nuss QB battle and a change of position to WR for Daniels.I

shite, I’m not opposed to that at all. Jet sweeps out the arse. Hell even have JD line up as a running back occasionally. It’s like a triple option but both running options could potentially pass the ball. I’m not saying make that the ONLY thing we run, but every now and then? shite that would confuse the hell out of a defebse. Imagine lining up like that, you know the defense is going to automatically assume JD is getting the hand off. Then have the QB run the ball. Would be killer on goal line possessions.

and he missed a lot of the season with a broken leg

and the problems were the STM defense could not stop the EDW running game

howard did all he could

JH has a strong and accurate arm
very smart, flawlessly ran a sophisticated offense in HS
great poise and awareness, very calm on the field
great leader, team first guy
excellent runner, but runs when he has to
