I think Saban, Muschamp, Meyer, Kelly, etc. teach discipline, accountability and a strong mental approach to the game to dominate your opponent.

Florida has committed a shite-ton of penalties both years Muschamp has been there. I'm not sure how you possibly assert his teams are disciplined at this point. Him screaming and acting an arse on the sidelines is not proof enough.

And since we don't "dominate our opponents," forgetting for a moment that we did--thoroughly--most of last year, wouldn't that suggest that Miles teaches "overcoming adversity" and the "will to win?" Otherwise, how do we seem to wind up coming out on top of most of these close games?

It's ok to be wrong, I just ask that your logic attempt to remain consistent.

LSU comes out on top alot. I guess I am just wishing that for our great Louisiana recruiting base, the best facilities in the country, $5 million in cash and Chavis/Moffitt, that we could win more National Championships ala Alabama (2 of the last 3 and possibly 3 of the last 4).

If you are completely happy with being second fiddle to anyone, then that's you. I, on the other hand, want to win it all every year. I know that is unrealistic, but that doesn't keep me from wanting it!!! i want to beat Alabama's arse every year and control our destiny. In order to do that, we have to out-recruit, out-prepare and out-coach them year in and year out. Can Miles do that?

This is the reason that beating them is so important.

My only issue with Miles as a coach is the inability to recruit and develop even a slightly above average QB.

Same here. For 11 or more seasons CLM is 5/7; RP probably could have made that 7/7. But ultimately Miles is responsible for recruiting and staff hires.

What coaches are considered the best of this generation? Saban Meyer Spurrier Tressel Chip Kelly to name a few

At some point what's really true comes to bear. Miles will get his due nationally and locally. (Actually nationally he has a very good reputation save blogosphere which is skewed to say the least).

I don't see this. I think the National media disrespects Miles daily because of all of the clock mgmt problems and goofy quotes. They like the "hard nosed" type coaches...not the "nice guy" type. unfortunately, we need the media to like us because they vote in the polls, but they think Miles is a moron.

According to Rivals, Alabama has had the top football recruiting class every year since 2008 except for 2009.In 2009 LSU was second. All things considered, Miles has done well against Saban at 3 wins & 3 losses.Maybe Miles is not as bad a coach as some people think.

Recruits don't always pan out the way we think.

Example: Russell Shepard 5 Star out of HS and what has he done lately.

Bama experiences the same thing....

I don't even look at those boards anymore.

Focus for LSU: keep your best in-state talent at LSU, and pick a few blue chips out of state and we'll always be ripe with talent.

I get ripped when i say we dont have depth. We are missing guys that would be on the 2 deep and 3 deep as well. So at some points we are playing with what would be the 4th guy in line. No welter, so ur on ur 3rd mlb when feist comes in, no kwon or muncie or jones so you are absolutely forced to play freshmen on either side of minter. When turner went out fir a few plays you have ur back up center playing rg.

Yet we are still in the hunt fir the sec west and bcs title.
