That's what you're calling the worst loss in LSU history now?

This comment proves you haven't been a lsu fan long. If you think losing in the NATIONAL TITLE GAME is the worst lsu loss , ever, you're a bandwagon fan. Fact.

I hope when you say LESSER team you mean a creampuff.

I mean a less talented team. Saban has had #1 class 4/5 years.

Really? Ok let's start with UAB. How about the last time Tulane beat us. Like I said. If you think losing in the national title game is the worse lsu loss, you're dumb.

Eta. I'd also add the time Florida stomped the shite out of us in the 90's. Or Saban getting stomped against bama 31-3.

So LSU lost to UAB. So WHAT..........

1-9-12 was a HORRIBLE loss. It Cost LSU a national TITLE. The next worse loss in LSU history was in 1959 AT TENN. Cannon was OVER the goaline and LSU lost. That game cost us a shot at a title. The loss in 2006 to AU ended up being a huge loss. It cost LSU a shot at the NC game.

Need I go on????

That was a horrible night. Cold as shite and Bama ran it down our throats. One drive was a 98 yard drive which Bama did not pass. even one time. I think THIS game Made Saban change some things.

I'd rather lose in the bcs title game ( end the season at #2 )for the rest of the decade than have one season losing to low level school like UAB. Do you think Michigan fans think losing to OSU in 08 is worse than losing to App St.
That 2011 bama defense is the greatest cfb defense of all time. I'd rather get shut the frick down by a great team than lose to shite team any day.

in the end, regardless of being a loss, LSU being in the National Championship Game is an accomplishment. Regardless of the outcome.

There are 115 other teams that would trade for that spot in a heartbeat.

It was a successful season with a Conference championship and a W over the eventual national champions.

They just got a trophy that was a little bit shinier.

I agree but what does this have to do with the UAB game being the WORST loss EVER for LSU???? Getting there is great.

I'd rather get to the National Championship game and lose than lose to a lower level school as such.

If we can establish the run, which I think we can,get a few key third down stops, and win the turnover battle, there is no reason why LSU can't walk away with a W.

Bama has played only one top 25 team, and that team had zero D and put up 600+ yards on Bama (which has to be a record for Saban).

LSU can put up yards and points on Bama's D

Ole Miss is a solid win for Bama. All the idiots talking about how terrible OM is is the reason so many pussies can't stop whining and crying about it to this day. OM was picked by many to beat us and finish ahead of us to start the season. They had a huge win at UT, then had to deal with a brutal SEC stretch, you know, the thing that makes playing in the SEC so tough, which Alabama, and A&M apparently, never has to deal with?? OM was 3-0, ranked, then had to travel to Alabama and Auburn and lost two hard fought road games to good teams. Then Manziel came in and they lost another last second game. They were 3-3 because of how their schedule shaped up and had their backs against the wall for their biggest rivalry game. Anyone that thinks LSU losing to that team, especially at the end of an 8 week stretch with no byes 5 of which were SEC teams 3 of which were on the road, can just eat a big ol bag of dicks. And choke to death of them. Seriously, anyone spouting that shite is a huge pussy and should be called out for it mercilessly. They have clearly never competed in anything and know nothing about the competitive nature of athletics. I don't care how many players were hurt. Those were all still SEC athletes on their home field, and most of their young players are going to be better than the older ones they were replacing anyway. It's why OM is a program on the rise right now. Seriously, anyone who argues with any of that is a huge taint and should be mocked for all to see.

Oh yeah. All of this son.

So, that's cool if Les wants to have his philosophy of 'not going for the jugular' as you say (and I agree). So one way of overcoming the flaws in the philosophy is to use a shut down defense (not a prevent defense) to prevent the other team from scoring and moving the ball, thus negating the need to put up a lot of points.

But we don't do this, why?

We simply don't have the athletes this year idiot.

I was there.

Bradie James was our leading rusher that night. He rumbled 28 yards with a fake punt. Marcus Randall fumbled it away on the next play.

Phil Steele says LSU about to get raped.

Bama is better on D than last year while LSU is worse and getting weaker by the week.

Saban's teams are disciplined and crisp; destroying anything in their way. I love LSU but the gap is getting bigger on an annual basis and Bama drums us in 2 weeks.

Oh yeah, they ran rt through tamu, lsu and uga last year. Ran through lsu in 11 and ran through lsu, USC and Aub in 2010.

You do know sabans LSU teams were always the most penalized in the sec and country rt? They get the calls at bama. Plain and simple.
