Any loss would be disastrous. Imagine losing in consecutive years to the Big 10...We gain basically the same no matter the opponent. People bitching about their preferences have very little to do with it. Fact is politics and circumstance play into bowl decision. LSU has a lot of Texas alum and are closer than Orlando. Bama had not been there in 15 years or whatever.

Once you start losing games you lose control over your destination. We should be happy we didn't see repeat of 05.

They get the shitty turf and possible horrible weather.

Give me Jerry's World.

I still haven't figured out why some fans so desperately wanted to go to the Cotton when we'll be in that stadium for Labor Day weekend.

As opposed to returning to Orlando, where we were 12 months ago?

Not to mention we could be playing the defending National Champ come Labor Day, in our season opener no less. Don't worry about fans being even MORE pumped for that game than this one.

I'll take the obvious national exposure that Bama will now get (SEC vs Big 10 will be a popular draw anywhere) over the regional interest (at best) the Cotton Bowl will attract. We're already in Texas; it's not like we don't recruit there already.

LSU has been begging to play OOC games in TX for years. now we get 2 relatively close in time

bama is the bigger national program, so they got that going for them

lsu played in the capital one last year and in 2004. we had that working against us

bama was the logical choice, and LSU benefits

or bama didn't go to the cap1 bowl last year and we did. also its better we go cotton. why? because 1. its a new bowl for us since we havent been since 02 and its a nice dry run for our season opener next year. We get practice time and all the hoopla of playing in the jerry dome out of the way. Next year we can just go in business like usual type deal and not be blinded by all the shiny new bling of jerry world

That would mean LSU turned downed more money.

No it doesn't. The revenue is shared.

Capital one most prestigious..........

That bowl fricking blows..........

The venue may suck, but the bowl is considered the best non-BCS game. However, I suspect the Cotton and Chicken Bowls will attempt to get a better spot in the near future.

Besides I'd rather the recruiting benifits of playing in Texas than Florida.

Thank God they passed us over. Pretty sure they know we all hate that bowl. Payout is nice but everything else about CapOne < Cotton

The SEC splits all bowl money evenly. Everyone knows this. I m excited about playing the first bowl in Jerry'sworld with no other competition on tv.

It's the only game on that day. If you want to college football than you have to watch LSU.
