I went to Tuscaloosa for a game between Bear and Saban. The Tigers had the game in hand early. The atmosphere was depressing. The stadium emptied at halftime because the Bama team sucked, not because of traffic, etc. I kind of felt bad for them but now I’m glad they’re experiencing it again.
The fair weather fans came back out in force when Saban bailed on Miami.

Wife and I went to Bama in 2009. LSU wins, gave my wife a hug. We started to head out and the damn place was practically empty. They head for the woods quickly after a loss.

A&M and Arkansas are both like that. Cocky for no reason and the best at making excuses.

In what universe did this occur?

My bad - it was in the era after Bear was gone but before Saban was hired. I could have made it more clear.

And don’t forget that the refs always have it out against them… lol

We dominated the line of scrimmage (esp in the second half), contained their receivers, and kept Jahmyr Gibbs in check. Any gump denying they got straight up beat is full of shite.

LMAO. USL used say stupid shite like that...

The band wagon fans will be abandoning bama like rats on a sinking ship. They're already scoping out a new dynasty to become fans of. All the Nebraska and Florida state gear they have from the 90s is still of no use to them.
This has always seemed so contrived and ridiculous to me. Why even be a fan? How can there possibly be any joy in fake fandom?

Tennessee fans are far worse

Yep, a Texas fan asked me if Bryce Young played and when I said yes, they said he must’ve still been hurt since LSU won.
That was a consensus take on the Tidefans game thread during the game. It’s like pulling teeth for most of them to give credit to the opposing team.

I never heard of that. Nicholls has always (and PURELY tongue-in-cheekly) referred to itself as "Harvard on the Bayou." Tulane, for years (and not quite as tongue-in-cheekly) would call itself "Harvard of the South," but it's been ages since I've heard anyone even jokingly state such a thing.
I've never heard of any such insinuation with UA-Tuscaloosa and certainly not USL.

I was recruited by USL for baseball back in the very early '80's. That is exactly how they sold their academics. I walked on at LSU instead!

Actually, I've found the they are pretty much like most other fans. The vast majority are pleasant and knowledgable. Unfortunately, the idiotic ones are also the most vocal, so those are the ones that you see and hear. Kind of like TD (or any social media outlet, for that matter).

I travel to a central location every year for end of year meetings. Most employees are from TN but bailed on UT years ago and all of a sudden became Bama arse licks. As y’all said: entitled, arrogant, few know any real football other than we should all bow down to them.
I swear some of them speak of Bear as though he was Jesus Christ.

At least Tulane was a top school and a top 5 southern school for many years before Eamon Kelly and that slob Scott Cowen wrecked the place. It now is back on track and has an acceptance rate of 8.5% which is pretty damn impressive. Some of that is bc of universal application but all schools use that so it’s still impressive.
