I would spend Friday night in New Orleans. Great places to go on Burbon Street are Oz and the Burbon Pub. These are great Sports bars.

That's just false for a game weekend especially. Bars will be hopping from Thursday - Sunday with new sunday permits(Bulldog for sure).
Downtown after the game or obviously Tigerland if you're 18-25. Both will be similar to the strip in Tuscaloosa after a big game.
eta: oz, bourbon pub, splash in br are all gay bars.

Do you mean as far as visiting fans are concerned, or resident population?
New Orleans is as much Alabama, as Birmingham is LSU.
