For the second time this season, the Power are doing something about their feeble offense.

quote:

coach Derek Stingley, who hired offensive assistant Jon Lyles after the season's first three games, put starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson's job in jeopardy, activating Steve Sheffield

quote:

“We thought we needed an upgrade at the position, and we want to see if he can come in and help us, We've been hot and cold,” Stingley said. “More cold than hot. We need to be steady.”

New quarterback Steve Sheffield, who wasn't activated until Thursday, threw six touchdown passes to lead the previously sluggish offense to its best scoring output of the season

JJ led his team to 1-5, despite having the stingiest defense in the league. Sounds familiar. LSU had some of their best defenses during the JJ years, but we had abysmal offenses

Cant believe Miles stuck with that guy for so long

I'm really not surprised. I've always rooted for him, but he just doesn't seem to have what it takes to be a starting quarterback in any league. I hope he can turn things around since he is a former tiger and I root for all of them, but I seriously doubt it. Honestly, I think JaMarcus Russell has a better shot at being an NFL QB over the next few years than Jefferson does at being an AFL backup unless he turns things around quickly.

Ouch.

Remember those threads when people were saying that it was a notable honor for JJ to be playing in the AFL? As if it were something above-and-beyond being a mere starter for LSU?

Why do we bash our players? WTF are any of our ex qbs doing? nothing.

Seriously... was JJ going to tell Miles he wasnt going to play? ummm no coach i dont want to play, you should let someone else do it....

You guys are fricking tards.

Both qbs sucked, both worked their asses off and spent 5 and 4 years trying to live up to expectations they were never going to meet in the first place.

Here's that gem of a quote from Jester on March 11 ( LINK):

quote:

It is harder to make an AFL roster than the LSU roster. Thus, it is an honor. Feel free to keep tearing down our own guys, though.

You left out "coaches".

Sadly, this is what LSU fans are known for.

i was waiting for that to happen... i guess the coach thought he better do it before his job was on the line

there's a few shitty teams in their conference (like the VooDoo) which means they still have playoff chances despite a 2-5 start

yes he is awfull, the problem we had was the other QB on the roster sucked it even harder. I hope both of them get on with their lives and have nothing to do with LSU or football ever again.

before the bama game, lee had 13 TD's and 1 INT and led the SEC in passer efficiency.

He threw 2 INT's in that game and was benched for the rest of the season.

No one respected the pass when Jefferson was in the game after Alabama 2011.

They stacked the box and left defenses in man coverage.
