Les miles would rather be proven right and lose than be proven wrong and win.

Sounds a lot like most of tiger rant.

I mean, it is strange that after our best passing quarter in recent memory, he gives a less than enthusiastic half time report, yet the week before he acted like things were hunky dory.

Miles would prefer to be right and win

He's having a tough time understanding the game is played differently now...

And it handicaps his incredibly talented team.

Change is hard for football coaches

Been a lot of discussion about it

If your mentor was great and successful then surely everything you were taught can not be a wrong path or conviction.

it's not that simple..

I don't know anymore. I don't have a clue why CLM acted so mad at half time. You would think he would have been all smiles because he finally had a QB that could complete a forward pass to hi own teammate. But instead he criticized him for throwing a deep ball in single coverage that should have been caught. Then says he should have checked it down with no the receivers to even throw to.

Miles is so stuck on the "efficiency" factor of his scheme that he cannot understand or accept that he might have to change and will do anything to prove himself right. I don't believe he will intentially cause the Tigers to lose. He is just bound and determined to prove that, if the players are just more efficient at running his scheme, all will be well.

His mentor never won a national title, and if not for the biggest fluke of a final weekend of the season in 2007 Les wouldn't have won one either. Seriously, a two loss national champion?

Well, I've always heard him say it was execution, not necessarily the plays. As far as passing, he seems to be partially correct. It looked quite different with Etling, even though, different types of passes were called.

They have different skills sets, like Harris being more effective throwing downfield and Etling much more effective with touch passes and intermediate stuff. The latter is more of what this offense requires rather than the deep stuff. What irritated me more about Harris is it seems he's forgotten he has legs to run.

Here's to Etling improving every week to a place of consistency.

Exactly. And I was a Miles supporter. Last year I was willing to deal with change but with how things went down, I wasn't confident if the AD would make the best decisions. I still think we need a change but damn I don't wanna lose to prove my point. These guys worked too hard for that. Many guys decided to stay for their senior year for this. To ask for them to lose to prove that Miles needs to go is beyond dumb but this is the Rant so...

And if not for the fluke okie state loss and Bama getting a second chance against a team that beat them in their home stadium Les would have won another one.

You can't credit luck. Those two cancel each other.

Les must GEAUXXXXXXX! He has become a pathetic, petty, pouty, hard-headed gentleman who is well past his "sell by" date as a college football coach.

These players and Louisiana State University deserve better. The final straw was last November. Where we sit today is because of weak leadership at the top. If LSU football slumps any further and revenues drop from ~$125 million/year to $85 million/year, our state university will have to make draconian cost cuts to survive. We are struggling enough already on the budget/expense front.

The leaders need to make the tough decision now before Miles digs a deeper hole. You are never successful keeping poor performers in an organization...especially in leadership roles.

Miles has to GEAUXXXXXX! It will only get worse from here. He is a done, finished, walking-wounded coach at this point. Pull the trigger guys. You are paid to make these kinds of decisions. If not, your successors will make them after you are shown the door!

Leave it to LSU fans to shite on their own national championship just to criticize the coach.
