I'm not worked up about this. He's very good. I don't think he's great. LSU gets so much defensive talent that many coordinators will line up and there are a lot of options out there. LSU won't skip a beat in my opinion.

Texas A&M is having a scheduled press conference tomorrow to announce our new defensive coordinator.

It's not Durkin or Foster. I can't imagine why Chavis would make a lateral move to a team with much worse defensive personnel. Why would Chavis even consider a move from LSU?? Confusing.

What is the background on calling him Chief BTW?

We have nothing to lose. If it's not him, we had fun while it lasted.

If it is him, this website will crash

It's pretty clear to everyone that LSU's $30k raise signified a lack of respect. Chief will go somewhere where he is valued.

As someone who had only been in College Station once before enrolling, I would actually say the town is great to live in. The biggest downside is that big companies aren't there for jobs. But obviously that doesn't affect Chavis. Plenty of great food, stores, etc. Houston is only a couple of hours away, and College Station has its own airport. College Station gets a ton of shite for being a shitty town, but it is WAY better than BR in terms of crime, traffic, schools (for children), etc.

Yup. LSU fans who disagree aren't watching other teams. The complaints about Chavis apply to literally EVERY SINGLE DC IN THE COUNTRY. In this age of football, the offense has every advantage. What Chavis has been able to do at LSU is amazing. He does give up lots of late drives, but it seems like every close football game ends on a late drive these days.

If alleva lets chavis get away, he should be fired.

Agreed. I think you have to field really poor defenses to truly appreciate how good LSU has it.

Chavis is the best DC in the country. If LSU refuses to pay him, he will leave. In terms of resources, TAMU can match LSU on every level. He has no reason to stay loyal to LSU if they refuse to pay him. They would be retarded to let him walk. LSU is a 3 win team this year without JC.
