He spoke. Maybe pull up an old youtube of Curley saying anything and you will understand.

basically said the reason LSU had 2 losing seasons before he got here was because:

"the players wear earrings. We're gonna take them earrings, put'em in a box and send'em to their momma"

It really never got better from there. As much as Dinardo gets credit for the best "opening" speech by a LSU head coach, Curley's was easily the worst.

Of course you had some bigots running around clapping their hands all happy that dem earrings is going away but that crew comes outta the woodwork for certain things and that was one of them

Is there any kind of video or articles on his opening press conference?

Second time in a few weeks an LSU or former LSU coach was mentioned in a HOF speech. Mike Piazza thanked Paul Maneiri in his induction speech. :-)

I will always hate Brett Farve! It's his fault we hired that ignorant redneck (can't say his name). Brett Farrrrrrvara made us think that whatshisname could coach.

Remember all the "Crazy bout Curley" bumper stickers before that first year only to be replaced by "Curley bout Crazy" when he overworked the team so hard they had no legs for the opener against A&M and lost 45-0. Went all Bear Bryant Junction Boys.

And then he went on to thank the coach that really fought for him to even be offered a scholarship at Southern Miss - so it wasn't even Curley that saw something in Favre. Go figure...

I will admit, when he was hired I thought it was a Home Run Hire.

I'm not too proud to admit I felt the same way. I really thought he would win big here and we would lose him to either A&M or Alabama.
I had a long talk with myself after that !!!!!

No. Archer wasn't a good head coach, but he is still coaching in college today (and he was a coach with the Steelers for 7 years too at some point following his stint with LSU). Curley is out of football after getting shitcanned from Muscle Shoals High School almost a decade ago.

I have only been truly disgusted after 2 LSU wins and the first one was when Lsu went on the road and beat a highly ranked Alabama team which gave Hallman another year to coach at LSU.

The 2nd was the "do over" game against Tennessee, when Lsu got a 2nd chance to score on the last play of the game. That game highlighted the inefficiencies of the offense and clock management by the coaching staff.
