He showed he could do that with a phenomenal run game and not having to deal with a viscous pass rush. It had been established Nov 5th, that the run game was not effective and the pass rush was deadly.

it's pretty much only the run game, and JJ was only effective when we were running it well, too

the argument fails for that reason

No, its the fan bases fixation with the backup QB thats so frustrating. Its funny that 4 years ago, half of the Rant wanted Lee banished from the state of LA in lieu of JJ. Why??? Because JJ was the backup.

Read the post douche before you engage your mind and fingers...it says 'if' he believes this. I was questioning the posters position that Miles did not believe JL could help. Not saying Miles is ignant but not sure about you!

miles has tendencies. some are good, and some are bad. once we rolled with JJ, the bad tendencies rose up again and led to our demise. we ran a different type of offense early on in the year and we were killing teams with it. it was unlike anything i've seen under miles. pure aggression

The only thing different we did was consistently pound teams up the middle, because the teams we faced had vastly inferior defenses.(Oregon, WVU, MSU, Auburn, UK, UTk, NWSU). We pounded teams who we were more talented then.

With Lee, we beat Oregon despite Lee going 10-12 for 98 yards. We beat Bama despite Lee going 3-7 24 yards and 2 INT. We have had inept QB play since 2009. Just accept that and move on.

21-0 could get much worse. Alot worse when you start pressing and throwing picks, like the one JJ threw trying to make a play to ware.

Miles failed. He bet on the wrong quarterback and lost.

Nothing you or anyone can ever say will change that fact. The PLAYERS are asking the same question so who are any of you to bash the OP for asking the question.

JJ: BCS Champ Game:

53 yds passing
14 rushes for 15 yds
0 tds
1 int
3 fumbles, 2 recovered

Yeah, his decision worked out wondrously....

Yes.

I can't wait until we get a coach that will make his decisions based on what the fans want.
Maybe send out a survey, or just ask people on call in shows.

Maybe a guest coach of the week or something would be cool too.

So clarify your position if you will. Do you think Miles truly felt JL was as good or better option to help LSU win as JJ? If you think that, why do you feel Miles held Lee off the field?

This ought to be good...

yep, in his first game as the starter in awhile without alot of time with 1st string reps.

Yep, and how did we come back and win that game? Adjusting, changing the QB.

This is a really bad point, I mean, who gives a frick if we lose 21-0 or 38-0 in the national title game? Not me, at least try to win.

are you talking bout the SECCG where Flynn was injured?

The pass rush was only really a problem against Bama.

JL was only successful in a power running between the tackles. Couldn't do that against Bama. JJ was lateral and could do much more.

Its gonna be fun next year, when the fanbase starts to realize that the best QB was a 3rd stringer who was never really given a shot.

I swear we could have Tom Brady transfer here, and he wouldn't have started.

Don't bring logic into this, you'll confuse them.

Put it this way, if you were told Jefferson would average 40 yards a game ( ) in the SEC championship and the Nation Championship games, would you have advocated for Lee to play? Yes or No?

You want the story of Jarett Lee!? Miles didn't believe Lee could help him win any of the final games. Point. Blank. fricking period. Its not some personal vendetta. Playing time is not owed to anyone. It's as simple as the coaches didn't believe Lee could help beat either UGA or Bama. Miles is showing Character by not saying that.

So you have inside information that this is the case? I take it you got this from Les Miles? Last I heard this is all speculation just like any of the other theories.

I'm talking about the 2011 SECCG where JJs numbers were:

5/13, 30 yds
6 rushes for -5 yds
1 td
0 int

Yeah, another stellar game from JJ.

I bet if we had a way to search all the words he has said in his 7 years at LSU, even more than WANT, he has said this word.

Nobody is happier than me that Jordan Jefferson will never take another sanp at LSU....but maybe Les Miles is showing his true CHARACTER but not being completely honest about why he didn't insert Lee. Lee is pretty good at finding the hot read when being fairly well protected on a blitz. He is horrible when he is not well protected....and Bama was all over Jefferson from a 3-4 alignment and only blitzing one LB. That would have been a recipe for disaster if Lee was in the game under heavy pressure with 7 or 8 Bama players in coverage. Lee's career stats against Bama don't lie. Stick your opinion up your arse and learn a little bit more about football.
