Do people really think Harris has a chance in Hell to be the starter, no matter how good of a spring he has?

Does Rivers have the ability to be as good as Mett was?

I know Jennings is damn good and I liked what I saw from him in the Outback bowl, but I'm not so sure he hasthe #1 spot locked up. IMO im glad that we have enough QBs to have this conversation, unlike a few years back when we had only 2 to choose from. What do the gentlemen of the rant think

If LSU has a true freshman at QB it's not going to be a ten win season. I can't figure out why Bolden has not made any strides. Reading his bio, he put up some decent numbers including two games against Bama.

I'm pulling for Rivers and I believe it will be him and Jennings running a dual package offense

It's a legit 4-man battle right now. Miles will tell you that himself.
Rivers/Rettig/Harris/Jennings. Its anybody's job, someone will have to step up and take it.

It will be Jennings. But, Rettig and Harris should both be factors. Rivers has already been beaten out probably.

I say there is 0 chance Rivers is going to start. He was jumped by a true freshman. Granted, earlier in the season it was so that Jennings could come in on some running plays, however, after Mett got hurt who took over?

Not saying Jennings won't get some competition from some of the others, but it won't be from Rivers.

If he had a Manziel/Winston type Spring, then yeah he would. Thats highly unlikely though

Also highly unlikely. Doesnt have the arm strength to get away with some of the throws mett did and only slightly more mobile. Also if he were starter material, we wouldve heard a lot more about him in his 3 years here and wouldve been the backup last year IMO

I think Jennings certainly has a big leg up on the competition and its his job to lose.

Not true at all. If we have a freshman QB it will be because. He has beat out several decent QBs to get that position.

They're all good. Jennings is on top, and the way his passes float sometimes is just about his footwork. With some proper off-season coaching he'll be much better.

I wouldn't count anybody out if they're all improving, though. Not even Harris.

Huh? He was pretty damn awful at Penn State and was never expected to be a true contributor outside of an emergency situation

When we took him in we had no QB depth

Exactly. Pretty sure Jennings will be the clear #1, with Rettig not far behind, and Harris... No one actually knows. He clearly has the physical tools, but let's wait 'til he's even take 1 single practice rep at LSU before we say he's going to put heat on Jennings.

Rivers will be a serviceable insurance policy.

Rivers has been here 3 years now? Lets see who practices with the wide receiver during the off season. I'm thinking Rivers wins the battle with Jennings taking snaps every 2 to 3 series..

Is this based off Jennings backing up Mett all season as a true freshman, or is it based off Jennings starting the Outback Bowl when Mett went down?

I wish I was good at the internet so that I could post a gif of Captain Kirk putting his forehead in hand and shaking his head in disbelief.

I think Jennings will make great strides in the spring/summer and be the clear starter.

Regarding Harris, I think he has HUGE potential. But Miles has seemed hesitant to start young players who aren't physically ready. I know that was a big focus for both Rivers and Rettig (gaining weight/strength). Unless Harris can gain weight really fast, 2014 will be a learn/grow season for him.

Harris has a lot to work on and a redshirt would do him a lot of good. I dont see him in the competition much at all

People were making threads on Retig pushing Mett for playing time this time last year if you remember
