Kind of like his trench recruiting too?
He makes his own luck.
Someone ask him if he has the desire to be lucky.

Bama won it's championship for other reasons than Elroy.
Good coaching makes up for a host of talent deficiencies. Good coaching and talent is what makes for champions. Bad coaching and talent? Oh well...

Why not mention 07? Guess it doesn't fit your theory.

...and they have an OL, an OC and an offense that works

Not capable of being a SEC QB
Even though statistically he was better than most "SEC QBs"
Hell, his stats were almost IDENTICAL to McElroy.
Are you suggesting that an "SEC QB" does not really exist too often in the SEC??

quote:No! I watched him in high school and he had a tremendous high school career. But I never thought he was SEC talent at QB. Just my opinion and so far I am right. Miles has not been very good at evaluating QB talent. Blame the OL all you want and read all the stats you want but the bottom line is the LSU offense was terrible last year with JJ at QB.
so you derive that JJ is NOT capable of being a SEC QB based on his first full year as a starter where he had no o-line or run game?

Cold hard truth.
Alabama's QB situation isn't very good. There are dozens of other schools that would've been better examples of a good QB situation.
But then you wouldn't have been able to bring up Saban.

Why not mention 07?
But now you have to deal with those who recognize the '07 year was tainted in a couple of directions. The residual players coached by the previous administration, and the goofy plays and lost games and all out luck that led LSU into the MNC game. Which was won fairly and squarely by LSU.
But the big dropoff came the following season.

we have 7 guys on scholarship that can play qb. plus tc and bailey.

We have bodies

I don't think you did a good job in making your point in the original post. But I will say, when you have a defense like the one their coach puts on the field, your qb situation doesn't matter as much. Our style of play dictates we need a good qb. Them, not so much. We don't have a smothering aggressive defense. We have a bend but don't break defense that needs an offense that can put poins on the board.

????????
Guess what? He IS an SEC starting QB. Led his team to a 5-2 record in the SEC. Number 35 in the nation in QB efficiency. Return to reality guy.

So you have a rsf or a soph that will take mcelroys place after this year. Not much difference than when jj and jl leave. Rivers washes out ely.

Sooooo, they have 1 QB with experience and we have 2... I really don't get what you are trying to do right here honestly.
You will figure it out real quick if the starters at both Alabama and LSU are injured early.

A Comparison Of QB Situations
Here is LSU's QB Situation (Scholarship Players Only):
1. Jordan Jefferson, Jr.
2. Jarrett Lee, Jr.
3. Stephen Rivers (verbal)
Here is Alabama's QB Situation:
1. Greg McElroy, Sr.
2. AJ McCarron, Redshirt Fr.
3. Phillip Simms, True Fr.
4. Phillip Ely (verbal)
If you don't think this is a big deal or a problem, that is why they are the champs and you are not.

I see, so Miles """""""""""KNEW"""""""""" ahead of time that Perrilloux was going to f-up and he would have to dismiss him.
And he """"""""""""""KNEW"""""""""""" ahead of time that Garrett couldn't cut it.
And he """"""""""""""KNEW"""""""""""" ahead of time that Shepard would only be a receiver.
Gotcha. L-esp Miles.
