You bring up Jarrett Lee and his parents. Jarrett from all indications is not necessarily a bad guy by no means. I really pulled for him that he would get over his challenges on the field and end up being the QB we needed him to be. But what he went through he in part he put upon himself and some bad advice he got. I will leave at that. Touchy subject

Don't forget the Iron Bowl. Saban clearly lost that one on his own.

Miles has a lot more class than Saban. Glad we had him when we did, but when he left it was time to move on.

Its like some almost want it to happen. And would be crushed if it didn't. Sad disease Negatigers suffer from. Or, they just pretend to be that dense in order to troll:).

You're fricking pathetic. Perhaps the worst poster on the rant.

LouisianaLonghorn, you are a complete arse. My apologies to winston318 for saying his was perhaps the worst poster on the rant. Longhorn, you could possibly be a bigger knucklehead than Winston.

Les has beaten Saban more than any other coach since Saban has been at Alabama.

I admit... in the past, I've not been a fan of Coach Miles. Ok, no one needs to get sarcastic on me and say, "Are you kidding? From your past posts, I always thought you loved Coach Miles!" (sarcasm)
No, I haven't. I admit it. But, I've had a change of heart.
Les Miles is a good man and a good football coach. Is he the best in the business? Probably not. But he is good. He recruits well... he's done good of hiring staff and his team is competitive.
Now, is he a Coach that's going to win several National Championships? Probably not. Just based on the past, there's going to be one game a year that for whatever reason, the Tigers don't seem to show up. That could happen against Arkansas, Ole Miss or A & M.
No, Coach Miles is not the detail-oriented, stay-focused for sixty minutes, go ballistic-on-the-sidelines type of Coach. And, I will be honest, if you have to pick one coach to win one game, he may not be your man. But if you want a Coach who recruits well, seems to abide by the rules and represents his University Les Miles is a good one.
Last week, I read another story of how Les Miles reached out to a kid with a terrible disease. He does that kind of thing a lot. I'm pretty sure he does it many times that the media isn't aware of. So, Miles is a good man.
But, someone will say ,"It ain't about being a good man... it's about winning." I hear you and, if you look at his record he has won and continues to win.
Yes, his teams seem to play down to the competition... drives me crazy but, normally they win.
No, he hasn't beaten Bama much. Again, drives me crazy but, how many other teams beat Bama? Nope, there aren't many.
He probably will not write a book on "How To Manage Time In A Football Game," but he's still a good man.
You could say, "Well, it's easy to write this post since we are 7-0." I understand and I much prefer being 7-0 over say.... 5-2."
Coach Les Miles is a good man and a good Coach. I regret the stuff I've posted in the past about him. I don't know if we will beat Bama or not but, we've lost the last two years and the world has continued to turn. I think it will this time too.

1. Holy wall of text
2. Syracuse was the Miles game this year
3. Les is a top 3 coach in CFB

Let's put Miles' sainthood on hold until he proves that he can end Bama's streak and have LSU in position to win a NC in January.
And if Les accomplishes will you really accept him or will you fabricate more hoops for Les to jump through before you accept him?

Good post GA Tiger! You have the wisdom to look back and the chest to admit your former position was not what it should be. When I was a student at LSU I was critical of coach Mac and often wished I had written something like your statements to him before he passed away. He too was a good man and good coach. He was loved by his players and looked what happen to our program after his termination. Many times you do not know what you have until it slips away.

Miles is a top 5 college football coach. If he was to leave LSU for any reason there would be many college football programs fighting hard to get him as there head coach. USC, USCe, Miami, Texas, Tennessee, Oregon. All these colleges would would take what LSU has achieved over the last decade.
