A brief synopsis of how bad LSU basketball has been

It has now been 11 years since LSU basketball made the Final 4. Since then, LSU has won one SEC regular season title and the Tigers have appeared in 2 NCAA tournaments, winning one game against Butler and losing to UNC and NCSU, the latter in humiliating fashion. LSU has made two NIT appearances in that span as well, with losses to Oregon and SMU and a win against San Francisco.
Overall record: 187-166
SEC: 78-105
I knew it was bad but seeing it laid out was nauseating

1 conference title in 11 years for most SEC teams isn't too bad considering either Florida or Kentucky would usually win it. Other than that, it has been absolutely pathetic.
I'm also a bit disappointed we didn't win the SEC Tournament title in 2009 considering how weak that conference was across the board. I felt like once we cleared Kentucky, it was our title to lose.

Omg!! LSU isn't a national powerhouse in basketball like it is in football???
When has LSU ever been consistently in the top 25? Never. LSU is not a basketball school for so many reasons. It will always be third behind football and baseball. You people actually act surprised when you see what a shiteshow it's been this year when it has been for the last decade.

It's the opposite of true, clown. Go do some research then come back.

In the SEC:
t-3rd all time in reg. season championships
3rd all time Final Four appearances
2nd in # of NCAA tourneys
3rd in # of NCAA wins
Our historical place is not at the bottom of this conference.

Upon further research in the same time period:
33 of our wins are against in state competition.
Our record against high mid majors and teams from major conferences is 18-33. (This is sort of subjective since I counted Western Kentucky as a high mid but not a team like UAB)

losing to UNC

You could probably move out of the trailer park if you didn't just accept that as your place in life.

We should just accept sucking 2/5 years, being mediocre 2/5 years and making the tournament once every 5 years. Because it's so difficult to make a SIXTY-EIGHT team tournament.
You're showing how young and dumb you are here too. We made the NCAA/NIT tournaments 15 years in a row under Dale Brown, 13 of those were NCAA Tournament appearances.
But yeah, again, impossible for the flagship school in a state with good high school talent to be better than making the tourney once every 5 years.
