Assuming Coach Miles retires around 2020 or so do you think:
1. He will guide LSU past UGA and UT in SEC championships?

UTe - 13
UGA - 12
LSU - 11

LSU has a great opportunity of pick up one in 2012. So, only two more SEC championships would be need over a 7 or 8 year span.

2. Finish around the rare mark of 75% or around the rarer mark of 80% (for long term coaches)?

80% for an SEC coach is quite a mark. The conference is too competitive. 75% seems attainable at this point.

3. Finish with winning record against nationally perceived gurus Saban, Spurrier, Meyer and Petrino?

I don't see Petrino coming back to the SEC. And there is a good chance we never play Meyer again. Spurrier does not look to be a problem for Miles.

Miles vs Saban matchups will continue to be epic. I see these two going back and forth for the rest of this decade. Ali vs Frazier. Woody Hayes vs Bo Schembechler. Choctaw vs Rantards.

Anyone who suffered with LSU during the up and down, more less than mediocre, years from 75 to 2001 should be crazy for Coach Miles. imo

Watching since 1970, I always had the impression of a 7 - 4 or 8 - 3 club, some years better, some years worse. The 90's came, the nadir for me being at some point (probably a UF game) the thought striking me that we had become Wyoming. Gawd bless Saban and Gawd bless Miles I say.

Ole Miss game stands out. Of course the 2010 UT game when the smartest guy on the field was the center. I've only been disappointed with CLM once thouth, throwing JJ under the bus after that game. Not a coaching mistake but a moral lapse. But if that is the worse thing he ever does, kudos to him.

#1 Boise State and #2 TCU don't play with the big boys week in and week out.

1. I think so, but I do think UGA will pick up another 1 or 2 SEC titles in that time frame.
2. I think it would be hard for him to drop below 75%. would need a lot of 7-8 win season. I would guess it would finish around 78-79%
3. Tough one. Hard to say with Saban. However it turns out, I don't think either coach has better than one more win.
Spurrier. oh yea, for one we don't play USCe enough
Meyer. I go with yes if we play again. OSU doesn't fare to well against the SEC in bowl games
Petrino.Yes if we play again(I doubt he wants to be in the SEC again after last year)
I'm with you on 1 or 2 more Natty's

They certainly don't play a 8 game SEC schedule.

The SEC owning the last 6 BCS titles and that by 4 different SEC programs speaks volumes to how difficult our conference might be.

At no time in SEC history has the conference been stronger/deeper than 2005 to now and LSU leads the SEC in wins, West titles, and SEC titles during this time period.

I would say go back to 2003. Adds another National Title, and a 04 Auburn team that went undefeated

remember 2014 will give us a 4 team playoff. its going to be much harder to win a natty after that.

Does not compute... There will still be the same number of teams in play. Getting out of the SEC schedule alive will still be the biggest obstacle.
