5 Straight Novembers of the Same Old shite (Scheduling)

Because of the University of Florida's stubborness and the SEC's incompetence and impotence, LSU will now have to drop it's home game against South Alabama on November 19.
Consequently, LSU now has to play a conference opponent, Texas A&M, on a short week and loses the opportunity to rest any injured players prior to the final regular season game. Keep in mind the fact that statistically, at least for now, that game in College Station could decide the division (although it is highly unlikely). This shoehorned game also comes during the midst of a stretch of five straight SEC games that now includes #12 Ole Miss, #1 Alabama, Arkansas, #18 Florida, and #6 Texas A&M.
Who gives a flying frick that we get to play them at home? We still have to return their next season and have now committed to two straight years in the Swamp. Plus, we lost a home game which will never be returned.
My post title refers to the fact that LSU has now had five consecutive seasons in which there has been no non-conference game in the month of November. Not one less challenging game to break up the brutal stretch of SEC opponents down the back end of the season.
As most of you know, the division title is often decided during this pivotal stretch of the season. But while LSU's back-loaded schedule forces them to play arguably their toughest opponents, the majority of the division, sans Arkansas and Mississippi State, and even most of the conference overall faces a cupcake prior to their final regular season game.
Interestingly enough, Florida has had at least one rent-a-win in the month of November every season since 2006. It looks like the poor Gators are actually going to have to sack up and play a real man's schedule for once. This will be the first November since 2005 that all of the Gators November opponents are from Power 5/BCS conferences.
LSU has not played a non-conference opponent in the month of November since they faced Western Kentucky on November 12, 2011.
Sounds like some Grade-A bullshite to me.

We're in the Southeastern fricking Conference.
You want easy shite? Support a Big 12 school.

This is the only part I'm with you on. Alleva stressed and stressed we wouldn't give up a home game, then gave up a home game. He's got to get BYU to come to BR.

Dude. Stop whining. We said we'd take them anytime, anywhere. This is our chance. We have a team full of guys who are about to start playing 16-game seasons in the NFL anyway. We ain't scared

Doesn't sound like he wants easy. Sounds like he wants equitable. As a conference member seems like all members would have similar November schedules.
Now if LSU is taking an open date instead of a non power 5 game then that's on LSU.
Seems like all SEC schools should play the same number of SEC schools during November.

Except he didn't. He said LSU would have a home game on November 19 and I'll be damned if he didn't come through.

Or maybe sounds rational?
Ridiculous LSU loses out on a much needed rent a win home game two seasons in a row at the expense of Florida.
I would prefer we just play this year on that date at a neutral location and keep our schedule for next year in tact.
It's absurd to allow this season to influence next season.

If you saw CEO he said the team is focused on USM. They have the attitude of one game at a time and that is how they should be. It's not an ideal situation but kids come to LSU to shine in the big games. Now every Saturday is a big game. These guys are pumped!

Sack up and play a real schedule or bitch about LSU having to do it, playing both sides makes no sense
Posted on 10/13/16 at 7:38 pm to saint amant steve
LSU's schedule is reflective of the talent that plays for it.
Not too long ago teams were scared to play US, no matter the month.
We need to get back to that mindset.

He never said that. He said we'd have a home game on Nov 19th.

I think you have to get over it and move on along. It is what it is. We weren't going to get everything we would have liked. We kept our home game on the 19th. Yes, it will be a tough few weeks. Until proven different, I'm going to expect the Tigers to answer the bell.
I hope we smash the Gators.

Tennessee is doing similar without the bitching.

Yeah, you're right. The way I take that, though, is that he doesn't want to give up a home game. Then he goes and gives up a home game in a year where we're already giving up a home game for a neutral site game.
