How are we going to play it without Chris Hawkins and Rahim Alem in the lineup? We need those guys to be successful in getting no pressure off the edge and giving up huge receptions on 3rd and 18. I'm afraid this defense won't work this year. We clearly don't have the personnel this year

We've got a contingency plan. With a small front 4, we will cleverly allow teams to run the ball effectively on first and second down so they don't get into those 3rd and longs that we can't stop.

The third down conversion percentage against their defense was 36.76%. This places them at 38th in the country in this category (which is rather irrelevant compared to scoring defense but lets just entertain the idea for a second). 36%, 38th place of 120 teams. The 9th place team (nearly 20 spots ahead of LSU) in this category was still in the 30% conversion rate, and even Alabama was 29.9% (they were 6th in 3rd down conversion defense). LINK

do you have the stats against Alabama, Florida, and Ole Miss. We should have had impressive stats with our weak schedule last year.

Now, the next time you say third and chavis, remember this post, and think about when your parents told you there is no Santa Clause, i'm telling you there's no "third and chavis" whoever made that shite up is a moron and whoever repeats it is spreading ignorance throughout the fan community.

I watched us rush three on 3rd and 25 on Arkansas' last drive, only to watch Mallett step up into the pocket and complete a 30 yard pass.

We also rushed 3 on 4th and 9 on the same drive, only to have Mallett step up again and throw a 16 yard TD pass.

Who won the game? Did you watch that? Were there no 3rd down stops at all?
