It is very early for a 2016 mock draft in football but it just goes to show you what the scouts in the NFL are saying about the LSU players coming out next year.

He admitted, on radio Mike and Mike, that ESPN makes him do that and that he hasn't studied hardly any of these players

Therefore, who cares.

I checked out McShay's "way-too-early" 2015 mock from last May just as a reference. His top 10 picks weren't too bad, but after that he missed pretty hard.

Mock (Actual)

1. Leonard Williams (6)
2. Amare Cooper (4)
3. Cedric Ogbuehi (21)
4. Dante Fowler (3)
5. Winston (1)
6. Ifo Ekpre-Olomo (5th round?)
7. Brandon Scherff (5)
8. Marcus Mariota (2)
9. Mario Edwards Jr (35)
10. Landon Collins (33)

The rest of his projections were pretty terrible. Lots of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks. It's just too hard to predict from this far away. Still fun though.

Tigers could have as many as five go in the first.

T.White : Top three CB
V.Alexander : Dropping weight and moving to tackle helps.
J.Mills : Might have went in the first this past year.
J.Hawkins : Needs to have a great year.
T.Dural : If he leads LSU in receiving again he could go first.

I see White as a first round lock barring injury or magically deciding to return to school.

Mills could jump into the first round with a great year.

I can't put any confidence into either offensive player in the first round. Though if I had to guess, I'd say Vandal Alexander late.

White - Early to mid 2nd round
He doesn't have the length of Collins (who was considered a 1st rounder for a while) nor does he have elite speed for a corner who's going to check at about 5'10. He's not really talked about much on the national stage. Will need a playmaker kind of year. Right now, Hargreaves, Fuller, and Sutton are the top three.

Alexander - Mid 1st to early 2nd round
This depends more on when the first guard is taken as I see him as the #1 guard. Should improve pass blocking because he already kills it in run blocking (see the difference from when he was out against Arkansas, it was brutal)

Mills - Mid 2nd to early 3rd
Right now I have him tied at #3 with Joseph, behind Ramsey and Connor. Just remain consistent and keep improving. He doesn't have that elite speed or height, nor does he lay some hits.

Hawkins - Top 10 to late 1st
Big Hawk could blow up similar to Robinson from Auburn the year before last. He's a much better pass blocker, but his run blocking leaves something to be desired. I mean I'm going out on a limb, but I think he will dominate at LT and be a top 15 pick.

Dural - Late 1st to late 2nd
Dural does not fall to 3rd. He's 6'2, will be around 195 once he starts prepping for the draft after the season is over, and runs faster than a 4.45. I mean I see him hitting around the 4.42 range. He will have to attack the ball, become more physical, and improve his route running. Even if he doesn't hit 1000 yards and/or 10 TDs, he is too talented to fall past round two.

Even McShay admits that the year early mocks are stupid but they make him because people love reading mock drafts. It's why Keith Law is doing like 5 or 6 baseball draft mocks even though most readers don't know 95% of the players.
