Get ready to have some facts for your statement. These dudes on here will tell you that they weren't the best LSU D ever.

Now imagine that defense coached by anyone other than Les Miles. They could have been great, I tell you!

They were.

2003=11.3 ppg given up
2011=11.2 ppg given up

2003 lsu played 1 team in the top 15 in offensive points per game and offensive yards per game.

2011 lsu played 2 teams in the top 15 in opponents offensive yards per game and offensive points per game.

The defensive talent on that 2011 defense will probably never be reached again.

Too bad the media was embarrassed it was wrong in November, and screwed over LSU.

If not, it would have been the greatest season by a college football team in history.

Thats why the eyetest needs to be buried and never allowed to return. The eyetest WILL ALWAYS favor a blue blood.

If we arent letting the most deserving teams play for a title why even play the damn games. Just let scouts determine which teams have the most nfl talent and let them play for the title.
The eyetest should never outweigh this big of difference in resume....

Damn. Not sure I remember that graphic. Pretty damning.

Eye test certainly failed on Ohio State this year. I think both of these in the Rose Bowl actually look ( eye test ) better than what I saw out of the buckeyes.

It was maddening at the time.
Never had the eyetest been used to overlook such a huge discrepancy in resume.

Also,if it had been Oklahoma or Texas instead of Oklahoma State,no way are those blue bloods left out like OSU was. That 2011 season is when i started to care more about the sec title than some game youre voted into. I know im in the minority but you cant back your way into a sec title game. No amount of begging ( saban on national tv during sec title game) can get you into the sec title game. No amount of eye test can win you a place in the sec title game.

All LSU had to do was take care of business in the title game and this would be a non issue. The two best teams in the country played for the championship that night.

Best is subjective. Was bama the best team when they played Utah? When 2 teams havent played and they have the same record you have no idea which team is "better".

Not just greatest defensive team. The 2011 LSU TEAM is the greatest team in NCAA history.

No team will ever accomplish what that team did.

SEC Champ
Beat Orange Bowl Champ on the road.
Beat Rose Bowl Champ at neutral site.
Beat Cotton Bowl Champ.
Beat National Champ on the road.
Beat 3 of 4 BCS winners.
