In your opinion, what is/are the main difference/differences that allowed Les Miles 2007 team to win a NC compared with his other 9 teams that did not?

That's absurd. They overcame a pile of bad luck, fate, etc. in the form of injuries, primarily because there was a nasty group of seniors and they were led by not one but two very talented college QB's. You put those same two QB's with the 2011 team and they blast 'Bama so badly in Tuscaloosa that they don't get the do over and the Tigers destroy the porous defense of OSU in the title game. Those same two QB's in 2010 probably beat Cam and the SEC and win the BCS title. The 2005 team without the hurricanes might well have gone undefeated as well. And just as obvious the 2012, '13 and '14 teams would have been far more successful without the record-setting exodus of juniors and sophomores.

We had a couple more good breaks than bad breaks, but that's true of any championship team.

Same shite happened in '11 but the bad break (bama getting voted into the champ game) was bad enough to overcome the good (winning the fg battle against them in the first game). shite happens.

'11 was a much better team.

I always wonder how the 2007 team would've been viewed if they had win the two triple OT games, both of which they should have won but for a dropped TD in the end zone and a flubbed coverage on 4th and forever. I dissent from the view that 2011 was the better team. Defense and special teams? Absolutely! But 2007 offense was far superior making 2007 the more balanced team.

I hate that luck BS. You need one yard and Hester is your RB. Sorry that isn't luck. Byrds catch was a great ball. The list goes on.

They lost 2 3ot games...sounds like bad luck.

Above avg qb and defense.
We've missed on one or both ever since.

While other teams beat bad teams and lost to top 10 teams, lsu lost to not so good teams and beat the top 10 teams. That was the key to getting to the championship

They were the first team in history to choke and still win the Natl Championship. Technically, the 2007 team did nothing more than the 2006 team. We would have gone undefeated in 2006 if we had an O-line. We averaged about 2 ypc against Auburn and Florida. In 2007, we got lucky. The perfect storm happened.

2006 was a great team. At Florida was a tough one to swallow.

"2011 would have beat 2007 easily imo"

Some of it would depend, I think, on when the game was played in the season for 2007. That team got really banged up and was not as good in the middle to end of the season as it was in the beginning or in the NC game. Regardless, I can't imagine an easy win for 2011 being likely because of just how one-dimensional the 2011 offense was. At their best, the 2007 team could win any style of game. Put it this way: there is absolutely zero chance of the 2007 team being shut out in the NC game. It is not hard to imagine 2011 delivering an offensive stinker because they did it regularly, only to bailed out by the best Tiger D and special teams I have ever seen ... until 1/9.
